24.01.2022 Sadie had her operation today. All went well and she is now home to recover and heal. Thank you very much to Hoon and Theresa who donated to Sadies surgery. Her little family are beyond grateful.

21.01.2022 Today, Kareena’s best mate at the grand old age of 18 received his wings and will fly high. He was one of the first dogs we boarded as part of our #pawsandpeople program back in 2016. He was in our care for 9 months with Laurence and Andrew, Pixie and the pussycats at #laurenceslodge before we were able to reunite him with Kareena. Along the way, he brought people together and created friendships that will endure beyond his passing. We learned a lot too about aboriginal culture as a result of getting to know Kareena. Kareena called him Tjilpe (meaning Wise One). He was a beautiful spirit and will be sadly missed by many. Now reunited with those who have gone before. He will be remembered in our Memorial Gardrn.#keepingpetsandpeopletogether #payitpawward #hopespringseternal #willalwaysberemembered #mrb

15.01.2022 Sarah wrote to us today to see if we could help with urgent surgery for her dog, Sadie. She had tried every avenue and was unable to raise the $900 needed. Sarah is a single Mum who hasn’t been able to work for six months due to COVID and who believed she had no option left but to surrender Sadie to the RSPCA so that she could receive treatment. Sarah sent me the following: This is our sweet Sadie, she will be 1 on Valentine’s Day. ... Sadie came into our small family to support my ASD daughter through her anxiety and PTSD trauma and therapy dog. She has been a four legged miracle in our home who has provided endless hours of joy for myself and my 9 year old daughter. Sadie injured her tail this week and though we aren’t 100% sure how it happened we believe she’s got it trapped whilst exploring our backyard during the day while we weren’t home - or potentially a condition which is called happy tails, where a dog hits their tail on things too often when wagging. Unfortunately due to whatever the mischievous girl did do to it she lost complete circulation in half her tail and needs immediate surgery to have it amputated before infection sets in. This was such a shock to us and we tried our hardest to find the funds ourselves to save our beautiful girl but we are struggling immensely at the moment. The thought of losing our little Sadie brought so much heartbreak, my daughter would be lost without her! When I let Sarah know that we would pay Sadie’s bill, she said: Oh my gosh, I’m in tears. You are amazing and I am absolutely speechless! Sadie is the most beautiful loving little dog and she’s been the biggest help to my daughter. I am just so beyond grateful, I really am. I thought all hope was lost at this point after asking everyone I knew for help. Thank you so much for being our miracle! Sadie is having her operation tomorrow at Findon and Seaton Vets. We have assisted another of their patients previously and coincidentally I am dropping off 2 donation tap machines for our #payitpawward program to them tomorrow. I can also personally attest to Happy Tail being an inherent breed trait in Cavaliers. We cared for a Cavalier called Taz who constantly wagged his tail - so much so - that we called him Tazzy Tailwagger. Chewie who was also of Cavalier persuasion was the same - his tail never stopped! #payitpawward #keepingpetsandpeopletogether #pawsandpeople #hopespringseternal #sadie

08.01.2022 Dropped 2 of these donation tap machines off at Findon and Seaton Vets yesterday. A couple of our #payitpawward clients have been patients of theirs and they’ve kindly agreed to host these machines to help us in #keepingpetsandpeopletogether #pawsandpeople #hopespringseternal

07.01.2022 Remember Sadie who had to have half her tail amputated? She’s healed quite nicely and finally has her cone off and can scratch her own ears! It was her birthday on Valentines Day so she had fried eggs her very favourite thing! #payitpawward #keepingpetsandpeopletogether #pawsandpeople #hopespringseternal #sadie

05.01.2022 Our retrospective on 2020. Thanks so much to EVERYONE who supports us in so many different ways.
