25.01.2022 Out early this morning spraying some new lucerne paddocks for a client. Here is a good example of where poor preparation had taken effect.This paddock had not been sprayed prior to planting. The spraying of pre emergent herbicides before planting new lucerne paddocks ensures good clean paddocks and a great product at the other end for your clients.

22.01.2022 MARSHMALLOW IN A SUMMER WEED FALLOW No wonder juvenile marshmallow is so difficult to control in the summer fallow spray situation! This sample only had 4c...m vegetative growth on the soil surface but a whopping 25.5cm tap root that was even cut off at inspection from the paddock. Make sure you are vigilant with summer fallow weed control to conserve valuable stored soil moisture and nutrition for cropping.

Prevention and ongoing monitoring is best method. Check for infestations during winter as flowering makes it easy to see. Stock eating small amounts over several days may develop diarrhoea (sometimes bloody), drool saliva, dribble urine and then die of heart failure. Large amounts eaten cause sudden death for example, five kg will kill an adult cow. Poisoned stock must be treated within 24 hours of consuming the plant. If suspected, consult a vet immediately.
