20.01.2022 MATE V MATE: A successful NSW Police Rugby League event was held on Wednesday with a great turn out of teams from Mt Druitt, Blacktown, Nepean and Cumberland, and referees from amongst the ranks too. PANSW Executive member Aaron Rynehart happened to be in the winning team, Mt Druitt, who won against Blacktown in the main event. But the real winner on the day was teamwork, camaraderie and sport.

19.01.2022 REMEMBER this? When the NSW-Victoria Border closure is lifted this weekend it will have been 138 days of dedicated and continuous frontline 'safe-keeping' duties for the men and women of the NSW Police Force. The worth of avoiding the spread of Covid-19 and lockdowns in NSW after July? By the NSW Government's own estimate = Billions! Gladys Berejiklian Dom Perrottet MP

11.01.2022 Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice day, marks the day World War One ended at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918. In honour of all those who have served our country, we’ve retrieved some stories from our archives https://100years.pansw.org.au/stories/war-years.html #LestWeForget #WeRemember Image 1: A group of decorated Returned Soldier Policemen who were specially selected for special duty in connection with the visit of H.R.H. 10.01.2022 EARLIER this week the Premier put the role of serving police into a simple sentence: "Eight million citizens rely on you day in and day out". "This year more than any other I've really thought about the risks that police officers are taking every day in the line of duty. It's amazing to think 3000 officers directly helped us to get through the bushfires and thousands are helping us get through Covid. The only reason NSW has done so well (with) the logistics, the compliance, the quarantine, the border control - that's all on the shoulders of the NSW Police Force. Adding: "Every time a police officer leaves the home, loved ones hope that they come back in one piece, hope that they come back safe and sound, but they carry a risk more than anybody else. And that weighs on me heavily as your Premier".

06.01.2022 A LETTER TO THE POLICE OFFICER WHO SAVED MY LIFE | Read the stirring account from NZ where a police officer’s determination to go beyond the call of duty saved the life of a young woman in her darkest moments. Years later, the young woman has penned a heartfelt message to the officer that saved her life. Thank you Constable Campbell for not only physically saving my life that night, but for speaking hope, for sitting with me, crying with me and seeing a future for me that at... that point, I couldn’t see, she wrote. A future I am now living in. The work our members do really can change lives. 06.01.2022 CELEBRATING MICK CORBOY: On 26 June an official march out was held for Assistant Commissioner Corboy APM after 39 years dedicated and decorated service, and on Friday 6 November, he was surrounded by family, friends and colleagues at a special, delayed occasion to mark the man and his lifelong contributions. What shone out on the night were the efforts Mick put into charitable causes closest to his heart - from a personal mission fighting Sudden Infant Death Syndrome to leadi...ng roles in the Wall to Wall Remembrance motorcycle rides to his passionate support of AFL. Tributes were made in association to each of these, alongside videos from motorbike buddies from Texas and presentations by the Police Association, Highway Patrol and NSWPF. It's been a long ride from Mulwalla and Corowa to retirement, with many miles to go. 05.01.2022 SGT JOHN WAPLES - retiring after 50 years of service to the people of NSW. Today our Leader Organiser Jon Goddard and Specialist Organiser Ben Lee headed to Goulburn to bid a happy retirement to one of our longest serving members. Sgt John Waples became a member of the PANSW on the 26th of March 1970 when he was sworn in as a Police Officer. Way back when he joined he may have been our most junior member but from today’s 17,000 plus serving police officers only two officers ...have been a member for longer than John. After being sworn in by Commish Norm Allan he served under 11 commissioners and a succession of Police Association Presidents in his incredible career. Since Sgt Waples was sworn In more than 41,000 nsw police officers have followed starting their careers. To put that into perspective if we brought them all together all those officers couldn’t fit into the new BankWest stadium at Parramatta! (Video to follow)
