12.01.2022 CLUB NEWS: RAY SLOSS FIELD It is with great pleasure to congratulate the Minchinbury Club for the tireless effort to have field 1 at Federation Forest officially named the RAY SLOSS FIELD. Ray Sloss is a founding member of the Minchinbury Club and a wonderful mentor and ambassador to its many members.... Ray has loved ‘his’ great club since induction and up until recently, has been heavily involved with looking after the clubs merchandise and collecting cans and bottles to cash in for their young Jets. Of late, Ray has had to put his hard work and dedication aside to face his own personal battle, however the work ethic and energy Ray instilled in his members has been reciprocated as they worked so hard to get Ray this wonderful and life long recognition. A formal Ceremony will take place in the near future. The Club Motto 'Flying high with Pride' best sums up his passion for the club, Ray’s pride for the club will never be forgotten and neither will his beaming catchphrase "GO THE JETS" To the Minchinbury Jets JRLC Management Committee and Ray, congratulations on behalf of Panthers Juniors.

09.01.2022 FRIENDLY FINALS REMINDER Congratulations to all club and spectators on completing another season, particular one in such trying conditions as this. The effort and commitment that our district has shown to deliver competitions and provide an opportunity for everyone to play the game has been outstanding. Given that we’re now entering the final weekend of the season, we want to reiterate the government advice regarding community sport. The most recent Public Health Order, issu...ed by the NSW Government on June 30th, can be found in the statement attached. As you can see, the government advice is quite clear. Where a child requires adult supervision, spectators are limited to one parent/carer per participant up to a maximum of 500 people in attendance and there is no exemption for Grand Finals. While we understand the confusion with the Government advice, particularly when Grand Finals are being played at the same venues where the NRL are allowed to have thousands of spectators in attendance, these are the regulations for Community Sport as they currently stand. The penalties for the organisers of events that break these regulations can be severe and can lead to prosecution and heavy fines. As such, all Junior League Grand Finals must comply with the Government advice and enforce the regulations appropriately. We as a group understand, at the same time saddened, that a normal finals series of fan fare, love and support of our children cannot be enjoyed like other years. With your support and taking on board the advice to reduce the spread of the virus, it may just give every family the opportunity to ensure your child’s summer sports program can be viewed in a full capacity before we see you again next year. For now, please stay safe and thanks for your support.
