25.01.2022 These roses represent more than just paper flowers ! They represent the story behind immigrants to Australia who would bring cuttings from their gardens in the hope to propagate them when they arrived to their new home ! The long journey and the fumigation process if they came through the old quarantine station now @qstation saw these become nothing more than a cutting to be thrown away. 13.01.2022 My work doesn’t stop at 5 pm it sometimes starts at 6 pm after a day of work - deinstallation of a non acquisitive project 6 months ago has found a new home for a bit in the glasshouse @qstation Most of the projects I create I promote the deinstallation process so the artworks can be reused, repurposed or gifted to a charitable cause. Sustainability is the most important consideration in everything I make. 13.01.2022 Not the clearest pictures but I love these because of her smile and moments with just a few of her family she loves (sorry I haven’t included all of us !) But these are some of her best smiles ! Last year the whole family was together at Q Station, Manly, Sydney - to celebrate her 80th - what a beautiful weekend that was - and a lesson in never letting events like that go without some celebration!!!! Life throws curve balls and 2020 is one of those ! I still cannot wait to be with my family in the flesh, my heart goes out to my family and friends in Melbourne I hope this lock down eases soon / Happy Birthday little Lady ! XX
