25.01.2022 These times are especially tough for everyone, so we are thankful that we could do our Same Day Edit again after some time. This film shows that we could still do an intimate, fun, and heartfelt wedding within restrictions. Here are what we learned: 1. No huggings, but still there are laughter and happy tears, and that’s more than enough during this season. 2. When people couldn’t come on the day, technology is there to help. Some of Laura’s family couldn’t make it, so they k...ept in touch with them throughout the day via video streaming. 3. Tea ceremony is the time when we interact with many elderlies. Always keep a safe distance from them, wear face masks, and limit the number of people in the room 4. Even though the dance floor is not open yet, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Herbert and Laura set up some games that the guests could play even from their own seats. And it was fun! We believe for all the good things, that weddings will recover soon, where we can hug our family and friends really tight. But we are so humbled to see that Herbert and Laura could face this season with their positivity; that we could still have one of the most important days in this season. 19.01.2022 A beautiful mess. When all new enquiries were mostly for 2021, Christine and Peter booked us in July for their wedding in September. When I asked them about it they said that they didn’t want a virus to stop their love, their lives, and their family plans. They were determined to make it work while following any government restrictions involved. In the middle of a pandemic where so many weddings getting postponed or canceled this was a deep breath of fresh air but little did ...I know, there were still more to come. During our communications, Christine mentioned to us that she (together with Peter’s sister) had prepared a surprise for Peter on their wedding day. They said that they would bring Peter to see his grandparents in the aged care facility on the night of the wedding. The aged care facility agreed to this idea but being in the very high-risk age group, they will only allow the family to see each other while separated by glass doors. Watching the family greet each other through the glass was difficult to watch. It’s something that you never thought you would see in real life. The grandpa was in a full suit & tie and the grandma looked beautiful. Following tradition, they gave the couple a gift (Chinese red pocket) that was slid through the bottom of the glass door, and then they prayed for the couple in Vietnamese. At this point in time everyone kind of lost it. You could hear people crying, tears everywhere and at times I felt like pushing the green button so that the glass doors will be open and they will all hug each other. But I couldn’t. When we arrived that night, Peter was blindfolded at first. He had no idea where he was and once he opened his eyes, you could see the sense of relief coming from his face. It was bittersweet but it felt like his wedding day was complete. Corona virus has changed things dramatically for everyone but in the mess of it all, there is still beautiful things that can be found. There are still things to be grateful for especially when we have each other. Let’s not let this virus to take over our lives but be inspired by Christine and Peter’s story on how they focus on what matters most. There was no dancing on their wedding day, no massive group photos but they definitely made the best out of their wedding day with the people that they love the most even when they were separated by a freakin glass door. Before we left, everyone thanking us as if we did them a favor... In my mind, I was thinking that we should be the ones thanking them for letting us to experience this beautiful (bittersweet) moment. It truly was something that would stay with me for a very long time and change the way I see life in general. Family matters, health matters, relationships matter. Everything else is a bonus.

13.01.2022 Because he couldn’t see. That’s Peter’s favourite joke, and up until now I still don’t get it. I wonder if Peter’s sense of humour is the reason Christine fell for him. But one thing I believe that their love and commitment have led us here today. Peter and Christine are one of the couples that decided to move on with their wedding day amidst the restriction. They know some people couldn’t attend, so Christine has prepared a surprise for Peter, hey you might have seen this in... some news. At the end of the day, Peter was driven, blindfolded, to the nursing home where his grandparents were. Separated by the glass door, the grandparents gave blessings to Peter and Christine, then tears streamed down everyone’s face. In the middle of the pandemic hardships, we could still find beauty in it. To feel grateful for what we have. Love matters, relationship matters, family matters, everything else is just a bonus.
