25.01.2022 Last week I got the chance to catch up with a good friend of mine whom I hadn't seen in a while, Craig Richards photography. We were catching up to do some drone shots but the weather went bad and Craig suggested I get on his spare camera and give it crack. I can honestly can I had never used a DSLR camera and even struggled with setting up a tripod. But standing out in the rain with thunder and lightning crashing through the sky was so much fun. 90% of the shots I took were... terrible but that didn't really matter, I was enjoying something new that I hadn't done before and can't wait to do it again. Anyways here are a couple shots from the night, some are bad and some are ok. I promise I will have some new drone content up soon :-)

24.01.2022 As it is getting darker earlier and been stuck in an office most days I been thinking of ways to use my drone and still be creative. I have decided I am going to start giving light paint a try. This was a test shot, keep an eye out for some more shots in the coming weeks.

21.01.2022 My good friends at Victorian UAS have shared this guide from CASA on why and when you need to get your Remote Pilot Licence (RePL). It is definitely worth a read if you are using drones in your line of work. If you are interested in updating your skill base and obtaining your RePL get in contact with Matt and the team at VUAS,offer a range of courses, including RePL. They offer courses locally and have vast knowledge of the UAV industry.

What is normally a booming time for Warrnambool and its businesses, has been decimated due to the effects of Convid 19. This shot was taken last year, but it represents what the races will look like for the next two days, no cheering, no crowds, no excitement or passion, but it's not forever.... So in the meantime, do what you can to support local businesses, stay home, stay safe, and remember this is only temporary. 16.01.2022 My next few posts will be testing out the new Mavic Air 2. So far I am impressed with this little drone. It can do a lot of what the bigger drones can do and it can handle been attacked by birds and knocked about. In this shot at Hopkins Fall near Warrnambool, I used the new freewell ND 1000 ND filter for the DJI Mavic Air 2 to help get that long exposure look during the afternoon sun light. 13.01.2022 I recently made a quick trip to see the family for Christmas and made a stopped off at Pink Lake near Dimboola. This time around there was no water in the lake but there was this amazing pink salt crust covering the area. It was like walking on pink crunchy snow.
