24.01.2022 Living here is like living inside a Cicely Mary Barker book of fairies! Where seasons change so distinctively; in the way the town looks and smells to the difference in texture in everything. It really is most beautiful. The first picture is right now in summer and the second was the start of spring last year. And the last picture is of a Cecily Mary Barker fairy of the summer! My fave! I often walk past this little nook to get a glimpse of the trees behind and it always ta...kes my breath away! It is of course the building of our local art studios, Down the Rabbit Hole! This was back when we were setting up the shop (excuse the mess!) and Bonnie and I paid a little visit to Rochelle at @ooh_la_lollipop Scott loves a sour lolly so of course Rochelle recommended we hit him with the MOST sour one they had!! It’s so sour that I felt like we were purchasing something illegal as it was pulled out from behind the counter So, please enjoy scott NOT handle this sour lolly well a...t all..... 10.01.2022 When parents ask us for just JUST blocks. Nothing fancy. No toxic paint. No random shapes. Just good old fashioned baby blocks, WE DELIVER! I feel like as we grow into adults, we put the expectation onto our kids that they need more to entertain them because we apparently need more to entertain us. Let’s not make this mistake!! The humble building block is so important to support and enhance a child's motor skills and cognitive brain development. Building 'Just Block' struc...tures, helps develop a child’s fine motor and manual dexterity skills as well as hand-to-eye coordination and to exercise the hand and finger muscles. A block set is not designed to force/instruct any particular way of playing and we love this!! In contrast, the focus is on letting children use their own imagination. During the building process, a child can learn how to explore and exploit cause & effect, to undertake challenging tasks and to test the limits of their abilities. Some toys tend to impose limits in their use-for-play without stimulating a child’s imagination which is what happens when they play with toys that do the work for them. The 'JustBlocks' approach is intended to counteract this, where a child uses its own creativity, through play, to achieve whatever goals they have in mind!
