18.01.2022 Sunday 13th September 2020, was the 13th anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People. What better day for Twitter to start their latest awareness campaign, to amplify Indigenous voices across social media! In this ever changing digital age, more is being done than ever before to collect, preserve, understand and inspire Australian Indigenous languages from all over Australia and share it with the world. Two respected women from the Barkly... region were chosen to share their stories. Both proud women from their respected language groups and regions, Rosemary Plummer shares her Warumungu story and Janey Dixon her Murdburra story, that can now be heard all around the world. A special mention and thanks also goes to the Australian Literary and Numeracy Foundation’s Living First Languages Platform, whom without, none of this would be possible. PAK couldn’t be happier about Twitter’s latest campaign and are eager to see what corners of the globe Rosemary and Janey’s stories may reach. Congratulations Rosemary and Janey! Attached are the Twitter links, please head over and listen to these amazing stories! https://twitter.com/twitterau/status/1305021753408720897 https://twitter.com/TwitterAU/status/1305029328934064128 Please feel free to share with your networks.

16.01.2022 It’s the last term of the school year and PAK have hit the ground running, working hard to engage with families to get children to attend school. Along with all of the work we do in helping families with getting their children to school, we have been working on many projects, all working towards preserving our languages and keeping language strong. We currently have Glenn Wightman from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources working at PAK whilst he is cataloguin...g local fauna and flora. His work will go on to be adapted for multiple languages across our region, with the expert help of hardworking elders, linguists and language speakers. Soon the hard work of all those involved will be available in multiple different languages, and we are very excited to see a legacy that will be left for many generations to come. Keep your eye out for upcoming publications!

13.01.2022 No rest for the wicked here at PAK! Even during the school holidays our staff are busy, broadening their skill set with various training programs that will assist them in their positions. Before the end of term two, PAK made arrangements for bbqs and breakfasts to be held for children who have attended school regularly, with some students receiving awards for fantastic school attendance! ... And a big thank you to our most senior worker, Alma Dick, who works hard to ensure the students from Tennant Creek Primary get their filling breakfast each morning.

09.01.2022 Another great event that PAK is happy to help out with. Great effort put in by all, for such a worthwhile cause. The Tennant Creek community really does have a heart of gold
