25.01.2022 Once Again, we just wanted to remind you about our Christmas Appeal for 2020! We have already received a great donation from Rewired Electrical, and we are seeking any items that would be appropriate for children. Children supported by United Care move around a lot, and often don’t have many belongings of their own. That’s why any of the following items would be greatly appreciated:... Bags/Backpacks Socks/Underwear Pyjamas Toothbrush & Toothpaste Small games or activities Books Donations can be dropped off at our Coomera Training Centre. If you’re attending training at another centre and would like to donate a gift, please let us know!

22.01.2022 Covid safe training We are making every effort to ensure that every training session at Paradise First Aid is Covid Safe We maintain social distancing, we have hand sanitiser available and temperature checks on arrival, and you’ll be wearing gloves for the practical activities during the course. You’ll also be able to use your own manikins and equipment without needing to share with other course attendees.... These manikins are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after each training session. Our training rooms, desks, and other equipment are also cleaned after each training course. If you have any questions about the steps we are taking to stay COVID SAFE, please feel welcome to contact our friendly office staff

Socks and Underwear Toothbrush and Toothpaste Season appropriate clothing Bag or Backpack (some children move between locations at this time) Books, Colouring In, Craft activities Small games or other activities Footwear Pjs All donations can be dropped off at our Coomera location. We ask any course participants attending training during this time to consider bringing in a small item to donate. Please help us in this effort. Thank you all

18.01.2022 Today, the 14th of November, is World Diabetes Day and National Diabetes Awareness Day In the video below, Andy briefly discusses how you, as a first aider, can assist a person struggling from a diabetic emergency. Awareness, support, and action can make a big difference during a hypoglycaemic or hyperglycaemic event. ... For every person diagnosed with diabetes there is usually a family member or carer who also ‘lives with diabetes’ in a support role. This means that an estimated 2.4 million Australians are affected by diabetes every day. Type 1 diabetes is not linked to modifiable lifestyle factors. There is no known cure and it cannot be prevented. World Diabetes Day aims to increase awareness, and promote the importance of taking coordinated and concerted actions to confront diabetes as a critical global health issue.

04.01.2022 This September marks 60 years of the application of modern CPR. This also marks the 60th Birthday of Resus Annie! More than 30,000 Australians suffer a cardiac arrest outside of hospital every year. If a sudden cardiac arrest is not treated properly and quickly, it can cause sudden death within 10 minutes. Immediate action is required in order to survive a sudden cardiac arrest. The first 3-5 minutes are the key to survival. Action must be taken urgently. CPR training following this modern approach includes compressions, rescue breaths and defibrillation. As a bystander witnessing a sudden cardiac arrest, the correct training and technique is imperative.

03.01.2022 Recently, amidst the uncertainty surrounding Covid 19, some questions have popped up in our training courses about whether or not you should continue normal CPR practices. In particular, course participants are unsure about providing rescue breaths during this time. The Australian Resuscitation Council have just yesterday released an alternate DRS ABCD procedure, and director Andy has outlined this new release in the video below. For more information, please view the co...mments section of this post where we will provide the ARC revised flow-chart! As always - please take care, and we look forward to seeing you in a training course soon
