25.01.2022 Over the past month the the Nursery and Toddler educators have been observing the childrens interests in colours. The children know some of the colours when playing with the resources around the room. We also know that the children love being creative and exploring their imagination skills so what better way to do that than with painting! This time for something different we painted with toothbrushes!. Painting allows children an educational opportunity that is also fun and exciting. Painting aids children in acquiring hand-eye coordination, an important skill at any age but particularly at these childrens ages. This is developed while they learn to paint the parts and things that they see around them.

25.01.2022 Who does Yoga best?? The babies and toddlers say they do! Yoga helps to improve sleeping patterns both in duration and frequency, as well as encourages sleeping through the night. Yoga poses and stretches for infants aid in digestion, constipation, and relieve gas and colic. Yoga promotes bonding between parents and babies.

One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance" Last week we were privileged to have Suman share her heritage and culture with us, bring henna to create wonderful patterns on the educators and children, traditional dress to share with al...l who wished to try it on and knowledge to share. Children's were also invited to dress up in there cultural attire if they wanted to. Thank you Suman, we all truly enjoyed our day of celebrations Isla really enjoyed getting dressed up and loved her henna.

23.01.2022 Looking after all creatures, great and small We Rescued a Snail While we were playing outside, we found a little broken snail lying on the floor. We observed how it moves and we came up with an idea to take care of it. We thought that we should not touch it with our hands and we should use leaves to move it into a box. Teacher Angela showed us a video about how to build a home for our snail and what snails eat. We no know that snails are vegetarians and they do not eat meat. We are taking good care of the snail until it is healthy enough to go back outside!

22.01.2022 The nursery children have been showing a massive interest in their body parts recently. To encourage this and to facilitate their learning we started singing heads, shoulders, knees and toes". It wasnt long before the children picked up all the dance moves. We decided to extend on this interest with an eyes, ears, nose, and mouth pasting experience. This not only increased their knowledge on the parts of the face but also increased the childrens hand eye coordination and cognitive skills.

22.01.2022 There are so many benefits to children when they serve their own food. They learn to be social, caring, and self-directed diners in group settings. Most importantly, children learn to listen to and manage their own feelings of being full or hungry. Children learn a variety of skills for serving themselves. At paradise Kids all children have the opportunity to serve their own food and make their own choices on a daily basis with the support and encouragement of caring educators like Kimberly

13.01.2022 Research shows that encouraging preschoolers to retell stories theyve heard is an activity that benefits their language and early literacy development. By retelling the story, children get a better understanding of the story which will help them to improve their reading comprehension skills and their expressive vocabulary. Here Isla is given the opportunity to retell the story about how to take care of our living environment and how can we protect other living creatures, putting it into her own words and using her own emotive language

12.01.2022 During science week, the nursery and toddler children sat in a group and watched what happened when we mixed different substances together. We created our very own foam explosions! The children sat and watched as it exploded out of the jar! Charlie observed and said "wow, bubbles!" He touched the foam and observed all the different colours we used. He helped by squeezing the dishwashing liquid into the funnel. This experience led to many discussions, such as; colours, text...ures and observations of what we could see. Charlie developed colour recognition as he observed what happened when we mixed the colours together and watch the colours change. Charlie also learnt how to work cooperatively within a group - taking turns, observing other children during the experience. He also developed a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, inquiry, experimentation and investigating. See more

10.01.2022 During science week the kinders children tried to use markers to color paper towels and to conduct our walking rainbow water experiment. It was a really great experiment which helps children to develop scientific thinking and they conducted the experiment like scientists. At the beginning, children were encouraged to predict what they think will happen. During the experiment, children observed what actually happened and compared this to their predictions. When they found ou...t the water did not change colors, they came up with a lot of great ideas to try and make the experiment work. It was so lovely to hear all those different ideas and we agreed that there is no right or wrong idea or answer and that everyone can have their own idea/opinion. We then set up a table for children to observe the process of our experiment. This catches childrens interest in scientific experiments and also helps children to improve their concentration and develop observation skills as well as encourages them to think outside the box! 10.01.2022 This week, we were busy rescuing the little insects in our garden and planting seeds. Spring has sprung and we wanted to make our kinder garden more beautiful with all different kinds of plants so we planted tomato, lettuce and cucumber seeds. We wrote down our names on our own flowerpot so we can take care of our own plant. Before we planted the seeds, we learnt about three different types of seeds. We recognized the differences between them and we chose our own seeds to pla...nt. During group discussion, we knew that we need soil, water, seeds and flowerpots to plant our own vegetables. We understood that our plants need care and love and we need to be patient and wait for them to grow up. This activity helps children to develop their sense of belonging and they become aware that they belong to our kinder and have our responsibility to take care of our kinder. This experience also helps children to know about the life-cycle of lettuce, tomato and cucumber.

10.01.2022 With such amazing weather peaking through, the kinder children have been taking advantage of the sunshine and getting a head start on some spring cleaning of the yards in some fun ways! 08.01.2022 To have high expectations of young children means to intentionally teach them about topics that they show interest in and to give them answers to the questions they ask. Here we see Maddy recall what she has learnt about gravity and who discovered it and what happens on the moon where gravity doesnt exist! Wow!

05.01.2022 A beautiful spring morning beckoned the nursery children to step outdoors and explore. To our amazement, we found a tiny baby bird that was fallen from its nest. The nursery children got the opportunity to have a closer look at the beautiful chick before the educators safely returned it to its nest with the help of a ladder and gloves to ensure the baby bird was not rejected by its parents. The children watched as the "mummy bird" and the "daddy bird" chirped with relief and welcomed the chick back to the nest. The children demonstrated compassion and a sense of responsibility when they eagerly went near the tree in the evening to ensure the chicks were still safely in the nest.

This turned into them finding many creatures in the yard and asking many questions The adventure began when kinder teacher Angela came in with some caterpillars she found in a tree and made a home for them in a glass tank. After researching the needs of these tiny creatures, the two rooms were on a mission to look after them until they became butterfli...es....or as we came to learn....moths!
