21.01.2022 UPDATED HEALTH ADVICE Testing criteria for coronavirus (COVID-19) will be increased in Cairns, Gold Coast and Brisbane as a precaution following the detecti...on of cases with unknown sources of infection. The increased testing has been ordered to head off the risk of sustained community transmission. If people in these cities present at GP clinics or fever clinics with acute respiratory symptomscough, sore throat, shortness of breathand the cause cannot be determined, they will be tested for COVID-19. For the rest of Queensland, testing for the time being will continue to be people who have symptoms and have returned from overseas in the past 14 days (including from cruise ships) or those who have been in contact with a confirmed case, or are health care workers. As patients you must keep track of your prescriptions and when they are going to run out. This is because we may not be able to fit you in for an appointment to provide repeats at short notice. Please also note that you DO need an appointment (can be telehealth) for all prescription requests. Ask your pharmacist for reminders if you find it difficult to keep track of your repeats.
