19.01.2022 Just over a year ago one of the only existing physical fragments of Parallel _ For Thinking was this surface. It attempted to act as a prelude apparatus for what became the Parallel Space For Thinking; a singular space that decentralizes the associated (physical) limitations of space by simultaneously hosting and transmitting content to an audience much broader than its geographical permittance. Just over a year ago Parallel _ For Thinking existed only as a small group of i...ndividual looking to establish a much larger community and network, interested in thinking concerning Arts, Architecture, Fashion, Film, Literature, Philosophy and general culture abroad. While we seem less active at the moment our focus is currently behind the scenes. We will soon be releasing information regarding a new extend(ed) / (ing) network of members and opportunities to engage with Parallel For Thinking (via project proposals) Together, the platform is committed to establishing a sustainable and critical community for sharing and questioning thinking across the edges and constraints of distance, disconnect and difference. - More info coming soon! 01.01.2022 Via MSD - Melbourne School of Design an upcoming lecture event. In this special presentation Giuseppe Terragni’s grand-nephew Attilio Terragni will explore Terragni’s continued influence on modern architecture and the Terragni family legacy. ... He conceived some of Italy’s most significant 20th century buildings, with his designs forming the nucleus of the Italian Rationalist school of architecture. Much of his work combines a paradoxical combination of the avant garde and the traditional, highlighting a balancing act between Terragni’s own penchant for modernism and the pressure to prioritise the traditional, amidst neo-classical and neo-baroque revivalism under Italy’s fascist government.

01.01.2022 Via - MSD - Melbourne School of Design Tonight Andrew Benjamin and Gerard Reinmuth on Architecture, Relationality and Autonomy... "Each of these terms and their connections begins to define the locus for another configuration of the architectural. Rather than begin with the object the object emerges as an after effect of a network of relations withinn which it is itself to be understood relationality. Shifting focus to the relation allows for an identification of the architectural with the urban. Moreover, by holding to the relational, as opposed to the object, as a starting point, the potential for a repositioning of the discipline within the making of the city starts to emerge. Integral to the development of relationality is a repositioning of autonomy. A fundamental part of the lecture will involve the presentation of a conception of autonomy that emerges from the displacement both of the primacy of the object and the naturalization of connectivity."
