20.01.2022 One of Paramedical Services trained Indonesian Paramedics undertaking a winch rescue of three persons from a Helicopter crash in West Papua. Anton Sisawa responded from his base in West Papua at 1450 hours on the 19th September 2020. He used his skills learnt through the Paramedical Services Diploma of Paramedical Science to successfully manage and treat the three survivors. Congratulations to Anton for a job well done!!

SkillsIQ, under the direction of the First Aid Industry Reference Committee, has completed an update of the First Aid Units to ensure skills training is in line with workforce needs and expectations. The agreed changes to the newly endorsed First Aid Training Package Products will:... Better reflect industry best practice and current regulation Ensured their scope and breadth are reflective of industry expectations Ensure specific areas, such as asthma and anaphylaxis are met Address the role of mental health support in the provision of First Aid. The NEW approved training packages include: One Skill Set: HLTSS00068 Occupational First Aid Skill Set. Eight Units of Competency: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support HLTAID011 Provide First Aid HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in a remote or isolated site HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources. Her bubbly character has been a shining beacon and her infectious laughter will be missed by all of us.
