24.01.2022 Parap Family Centre acknowledges the importance of NAIDOC Week and celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. As part of their art activities, the Tadpoles this week painted with leaves using black, yellow & red paint to identify the colours of the indigenous flag. Meanwhile the crocodiles participated in collecting some leaves,sticks,sand and stones to make a camp fire. Children also participated in some art work using... cotton buds to paint with. The children also had mat time with a story book called Napangardis bush tucker walk" and had a discussion about what can be roasted on a camp fire. Fun day for all the children.

24.01.2022 The lucky winning tickets for the Parap Family Centre Easter raffle have been drawn at random this afternoon by our lovely Committee members Kate and Eliane and our assistants Bronte, Emilia, Johnny and Thomas. . 21.01.2022 What a difference!! The new dividing cabinets/joinery have been installed from our grant money and gosh they look GREAT! Many thanks to the staff for their efforts in designing the purpose built furniture for our children at PFC. And a huge thank you to Chris and his team at Brilliant Kitchens & Interiors for the stunning quality of the design and product. We highly recommend you!

18.01.2022 Dear PFC Community! We are very pleased to announce this upcoming fundraiser in partnership with the Deckchair Cinema. Save the date for a movie night under the stars to watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Sunday 12 July 2020. ... Tickets can be bought online via the deckchair cinema website and will be on sale from Parap Family Centre shortly, please ask our Director Jade. We will release more information soon including catering, raffle prizes and more!

17.01.2022 Thanks to all the families who attended our working bee today, your hard work is so appreciated! we loaded at least four trailers worth of rubbish and garden waste and have cleaned many toys and play equipment that hadn't been played with in a while! The concrete path and pavers also got a big scrub and are looking like new!

16.01.2022 PFC Community would like to say a big thank you to Stoddart Electrical & Air Conditioning NT a fantastic local business and sponsor of Parap Family Centre. Stoddart Electrical regularly undertakes maintenance at the centre not charging for their time and are always there to lend a hand when needed! Today Tom assisted with hanging repaired shutters ensuring that our crocs room is now safe and secure once more! Thank you Stoddart Electrical!!! And big thanks to our infrastructure sub committee for progressing upgrades to the crocs playground!

16.01.2022 We were very lucky to be successfull in applying for a Covid-19 response grant program from the Darwin City Council. Thank you so much for supporting us. As a result, this week our childcare centre staff have received delicious catered meals from an expert catering business in Darwin, Cafe 21. Ordering from them was such an easy process online at www.cafe21.com.au and the range of options on the menu meant that we could cater to every dietary requirements. From everyone at PFC, THANK YOU City of Darwin !

15.01.2022 Such a sweet and wonderful way to celebrate our 40th anniversary!!! The Chief Minister authored a childrens book telling the story of our centre, with pictures of our kids & staff throughout the years. He then joined our celebrations, reading the story to our children. Our sincere thanks Michael Gunner for such a heartfelt and touching contribution to our celebrations

13.01.2022 What a wonderful and super fun celebration Parap Family Centre had on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who came along and enjoyed the festivities and helped the centre celebrate it's 40th birthday.

13.01.2022 This week marked the end of our grant funding with City of Darwin and to make it special, we treated our staff to two days of lunch and morning tea platters catered by the expert Karen Sheldon Catering. Our staff were so impressed with the food which was simple yet extremely tasty and fresh. Ordering online was super easy via their website https://www.karensheldoncatering.com.au They even deliver at a very reasonable price! Give them a try this week, you won't be dissapointed. We would like to thank the City of Darwin once again for supporting our Community based childcare Centre and granting our application for Meals for Carers during these uncertain times. This week our staff were delighted to have lunch catered by Parap Bakery in the Parap Shopping Village, one of our favourite local businesses who always support our fundraising events. We loved how easy it was to order catering online and choose from their wide selection of platters, perfect for meetings and parties. Thank you Parap Bakery!

03.01.2022 Did you know that the Fannie Bay Cool Spot can cater for your meetings and events? We just found out this week and our staff absolutely loved their food! Their platter of sliders was excellent and refreshing if you're looking for something other than just sandwiches. They also have excellent party platters with the usual delicious pies, saussage rolls, bruschetta and sweet cakes and pastries. What a treat! 03.01.2022 Once again this week our wonderful educators have been treated to lunch and this time by Saffrron Restaurant. Needless to say everyone thoroughly enjoyed their hot currys with rice, raita and poppodums! Pictured below is our beloved Emma who enjoyed a delicious butter chicken, definitely one of Saffron's signature dish. Saffron offers a special lunch curry starting at $13 and curbside pickup is available for busy customer - staff will bring your order to your car! A massive thank you to City of Darwin for their support in assiting with our Meals for Carers initiative. We are very grateful for your generosity!

03.01.2022 In case you havent tried it yet, here's Darwin Trailer Boat Club's menu for tonight's drive-through Community Kitchen, which is open between 5:30 - 7PM. All dishes are available by donation, so you only pay what you can afford to give. Any profits made will be donated to Foodbank

03.01.2022 Last sunday night we had the privilege to host a fundraiser movie night at the Deckchair Cinema . The event was well attended and catered by the delicious food from Flavours of Damascus . THANK YOU to all our supporters for attending this event, buying raffle tickets and cakes . With your help, we were able to raise $2,150.00 which will be used towards additional resources and and equipments at the centre.
