21.01.2022 We are proud to announce that today, Parap Primary School was recognised as an internationally accredited Eco-Schools Green Flag Award recipient which is the highest level of achievement and is a prestigious title to hold. Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AO, Administrator of the Northern Territory, presented our school with their Green Flag Award today as well as our recently achieved 2020 Clean Green Healthy School Award. Her Honour also recognised the outstanding... leadership qualities of our School Captain, Maria, as well as our Eco Warrior student leaders, Hanna and Angela. She was impressed with their humble attitude when being congratulated on the awards, and the way the girls were quick to acknowledge that they were just a small part of an amazing team who have all collectively earned the awards. Her Honour presented Maria, Hanna and Angela with a Government House challenge coin in recognition of their inspiring leadership and to encourage them to always remain humble in their victories and recognise all members' contributions. 12.01.2022 Our talented students demonstrated their skills at our Christmas with Friends Concert and through the donations from our student and parent audience members we were able to make a difference in the lives of some less fortunate members of our community. One of the most requested items in charity shops are thongs and so our Year 4 students decided that buying thongs would really help. St Vincent De Paul Darwin ( Vinnies NT ) were very grateful for the donation. We also donated a selection of chapter books and children’s picture books to the children at Royal Darwin Hospital for sick children to enjoy this Christmas. Thank you for supporting out students to enable them to make a difference in the lives of others. Education NT

10.01.2022 NT Music School, Beat Foundation and Northern Territory Department of Education present the cinema event of the year! Screening Friday 27 November 6:30pm. Tickets are limited so book now! Please note this is a cashless event. https://www.yourcentre.com.au/#!/events The BEAT has been challenged with a completely unexpected global pandemic; COVID-19. There is an old saying in the performing arts - 'the show must go on!' So in 2020, The BEAT is going digital with a series of vi...deo clips! 41st BEAT Festival has been delivered in true Northern Territory style, but instead of live performances in Katherine, Darwin and Alice Springs, delivered by the usual cast of around 1000 studentsthis time, they will perform in groups of 20 at a time! Participating in a major recording and video project has been an exciting experience for the students, and they shine as brightly on screen as they do on stage. Join us in Darwin Entertainment Centre Playhouse for a glimpse of the wealth of talent in Territory public schools, and see the dedication, commitment and creativity of the teachers who nurture that talent. A COVID-19 safety plan has been created for this event. For further information contact NT Music School 8963 5550. See more
