20.01.2022 Wow! YOU ALL ROCK!!! Thank you to the more than TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-SOMETHING people who wrote in and signed our petition for a Para-rowing facility in #leichhardtpark which is being considered as part of the Inner West Council Leichhardt Park Masterplan at their meeting tomorrow night. Today we wrote to council to present the petition, and hopefully tomorrow we will be able to address Council on the Masterplan. We feel strongly that the Rowing NSW community needs more co...mmunity-based facilities to support #pararowing and #socialinclusion, and we want to work hard to create our dream - Community Rowing Club Sydney - a place where these programs can really shine, and increase the level of community participation in our sport. This is only the beginning of the process - there will be many more hurdles to get through (or in Rowing terms, we've only just hit the 250m mark)! But we are so grateful that we have such a wonderful community of supporters digging in and rowing this race with us! 20.01.2022 Woohoo!!!!! COUNCIL HAS PASSED THE LEICHHARDT PARK PLAN OF MANAGEMENT! We are on the map! THANK YOU to all those people who signed our petition - it was mentioned tonight and ensured that ultimately the plan was supported by an overwhelming majority of Councillors. Now we will get to work on our next step, and hope to have more news soon - thank you all once again!

19.01.2022 We had a ball entering the Head of the Charles virtual race. We’ve been lucky enough to have competed twice in Boston on the beautiful waters of the Charles River and had a glorious win at our first attempt with the return year seeing us come in second losing by only 4 seconds ! This year Bronte Marshall, Lauren Webber, Ellie, Andrew Dick and Stephen Rowing all competed with some great results !... Congrats to our women’s PR3 competitors seeing Bronte with a win ( WOOOHOOOO) finishing ahead of 2nd place Lauren (. WOOOOHOOOO )by 0:00.500; Ellie finishing fifth ( a fantastic time showing enormous gains from dedication and commitment to her training ) while Andrew competing in the men’s PR3 came in fourth (WOOOOHOOOOO) . Well done to Stephen who was unable to upload his time but brought home a great time. Bring on some more competiton !!!! Thanks to the organising committee of the Head Of The Charles Regatta for the opportunity to join the race for a third time!

17.01.2022 With the series approaching it's half way mark, we've seen some exciting racing! The Novice single is always a very exciting event. This race is unique as all c...ompetitors must have NEVER faced a starter in any rowing event before competing, meaning that the novice scull is often a new rower's first race. What was #YourFirstRace experience? Some have capsized, some collided with other rowers (or the shore), while some have won or lost by millimetres, or hundreds of metres! 01.01.2022 We have worked with innovators, researchers and mechanical engineers over several years with the intention of creating better outcomes for our athletes rowing experiences. We now have several state of the art PR1 and 2 seats courtesy of High Performance Adaptive; we are working with the Engineering Department of the local university to come up with a better hand prosthetic and now, thanks to Jen Fleeton, we are the beneficiaries of ground breaking research. Jen Fleeton conduc...ted the first ever training study on athletes with cerebral palsy and found that their sports performance can be improved through heavy strength training. Her research has been selected as 1 out of 5 nominees for the Sydney University Research Innovation Prize. Jen is now developing workshops and resources to share this new knowledge with coaches and athletes.
