21.01.2022 Yesterday was World Parkinson's Day and April is Parkinson's Awareness Month. Parkinson's is a progressive nervous system disorder that affects movement and mood. Currently there is no known cause for the development of Parkinson’s and no known cure. There is still much to learn about what causes Parkinson’s disease, but research is ongoing and there is every hope that outcomes for people with Parkinson’s disease will continue to improve and that ultimately there will be a ...cure. Parkinson's Awareness Month is important to educate people about Parkinson's disease, to recognise symptoms (both seen and unseen - see below) and support those living with Parkinson's disease. To find out more information and how you can help visit Parkinson's NSW on the link below https://www.parkinsonsnsw.org.au//awaren/parkinsons-facts

11.01.2022 We have exciting news! We are currently recruiting for a research study on low sexual desire in women, as seen on channel 9. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please apply through our website on https://www.paratusclinical.com/clinical-trials-western-syd Please see below for more information: Hypoactive sexual desire dysfunction (HSDD) refers to low sexual desire with associated distress. HSDD is a common condition that often goes undiagnosed. It can significant...ly affect one’s wellbeing, quality of life and partner relationships. Symptoms of HSDD include, but are not limited to, a decrease or complete loss of sexual desire, a lack of sexual pleasure, vaginal dryness and painful intercourse, which are not caused by other psychological or social factors. Treatments for HSDD in premenopausal women can include medications such as flibanserin; however, this medication, while approved in the USA, is not available in Australia. The current study aims to investigate a potential new treatment for HSDD. The potential new treatment, referred to as BP101, has been shown to improve sexual function in women with decreased libido and has the potential to provide an effective treatment for HSDD. This study will evaluate the effect of three different doses of BP101 administered daily on desire, compared with placebo. There is a 3:1 chance of being randomly selected to receive the BP101 compared to the placebo. Both the BP101 and placebo are administered via a nasal spray. Overall, the study involves 5 clinic visits and 5 phone calls over a period of 4 months. During these visits, you will complete questionnaires and general examinations including vital sign measurements and a blood test. https://www.9news.com.au//113a526d-8005-497c-9f5f-ccb40337
