25.01.2022 Highly recommended Reviewed 9 November 2012 NEW My first time to Darwin (quite possibly my last, I really can't cope with the heat - November), the owners/operators are the most fabulous people, nothing is too much trouble. Spotlessly clean roomy room, AC and a fan, comfy QS bed, good blockout drapes, flat screen telly, bar fridge, spacious WR, balcony with outdoor setting which just serves to make you appreciate the AC. Ask for a pool towel and you get a terry towelling bla...nket, great pool/barbecue area with shade. It's a very short walk to the Parap Tavern - reasonably priced meals/bottleshop, the Raging Bull Steakhouse (10% off when you show your room key). The other corner has a nice little general store and the shopping centre past the Tavern on Parap Road on your right is also a market on the weekend. The bus stop is a short walk (to your left) up Stoke St also and only $2 to go to Darwin (10 mins) and a good walk if you can cope with the heat - I recommend a parasol. A taxi is about $10 to the CBD where there are lots of good pubs and restaurants. The Paravista is an oasis just out of the Darwin city area with the most easy going, helpful, hospitable people on earth. The rooms are serviced unless you put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door handle. And they Do Not Disturb. It was and truly worth the money; I would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Darwin, its true value for money. PS We happened to be out the balcony on a hot night during a close thunder storm and were treated to a spectacular lightning show for ages. Room Tip: The rooms facing the rear carpark are good, nice greenery and no people traffic. 21.01.2022 Forgive me, but I'm going to rave...... Reviewed 4 November 2012 NEW Denis and Teneile must be the most patient, tolerant, forgiving people on earth. I've been emailing them from Hobart for weeks arranging a trip to catch up with children and my new first grand daughter and they've bent over backwards to help me. I finally get here after again changing my plans and the friendliest welcome from the weekend manager (he even took my bag up to my room). I've walked into the clea...nest room (fan on - I've already melted twice, having come from Hobart), I have a very clean, roomy room with a balcony overlooking tropical ferns, and there's a pool and barbecue area. My other son is coming over from Melbourne and they were more than happy to accommodate him - as a non paying guest until I arrived. Our first visit to the very warm and welcoming Darwin will not be forgotten, thanks to them. Room Tip: Bring your togs, you'll want to utilise the pool

17.01.2022 Traveller review; Good Old fashioned Aussie Motor Inn Dec 15, 2016... Jenny P (53 reviews) Alice Springs, Australia The Paravista has everything you need for a no frills motel room in the leafy suburbs. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, the decent sized bar fridge is good for storage and bathrooms are fine. And it has big mugs for tea/coffee (an essential for me!). A good writing desk if you want to get some work done. It is quiet and has plenty of parking space if you're driving, not too far from a bus stop if you aren't. Best of all it's 5 mins walk from the wonderful Parap markets and 10 min bus ride into the city. Much cheaper and just as good as posh place in the city. Reception closes early but they leave a key out for you so no problems getting in.
16.01.2022 The latest review on trip advisor.... And did I mention we are #4 out of 34 hotels in Darwin....All the hard work starting to pay off..... Well worth a look Reviewed 26 August 2012 NEW This motel block is sited in Parap & when we first arrived the locality appeared a bit disconcerting as we were driving around the block to get there, but once there , we were hooked. The guys on the front desk are really really nice & cheery, even carrying our suitcases up the stairs & offe...ring all sorts of help & advice. The motel is nothing flash but the rooms have all been refurbished with fresh paint & carpet & new linen. The rooms are roomy with a nice balcony to eat your home cooked breakfast that you can make in the fully equipped kitchen on the top floor where there are 2 fridges & a dining area as well. . Tea & coffee facilities & a fridge are in the room & they have a good sized bathroom . There is a laundry with 2 machines & a dryer & iron etc. Unfortunately there is no lift , but they were thoughtful enough to offer to rearrange the rooms around so we could have a ground floor room if we so wished. There is also a lovely pool for guests & a good car parking area. The building is secure & locked from 7 pm till 7am .The only downside - they don't service the rooms on Sundays so if you need extra towels you need to ask ahead to cover that day & make your own bed otherwise the rooms are cleaned & tidied every day. This motel is only 8 km to the city - taxi charged us only $10 to get into the city to pick up a rental car which is a must. . Closer though is the Parap Village where there is everything you need including a really good market held on Saturdays where the array of food is well worth the five minutes walk down to . It is only 5 minutes from the Darwin Racecourse , close to the Mindil markets, Nightcliff beaches & the casino & Darwin City & 10 minutes to the airport. Parap has some good cafes & restaurants including the Raging Bull at the local hotel where you get 10% discount if you wave your motel keys at them, While we were there they could have rented out another 30 rooms as it was Cup week & accommodation is .at a premium - we booked 8 months prior to our visit . We enjoyed our stay here & if we ever get back we will stay there again. - this motel block survived Cyclone Tracy pretty much unscathed so must have been very well built. See more

07.01.2022 Great Value Reviewed 11 October 2012 This is my third stay at the Paravista, it si propably the best value for money in Darwin. The rooms are great and the staff are beyond reproach. The Motel is run by a husband and wife team who are helpful, kind and just good people. I would reccomend this motel to all travellers who want comfort and convenience, without having to pay big city prices.

03.01.2022 Comfortable stay in a convenient suburb Reviewed 7 October 2012 Our room was spacious with a nice balcony. The bed was more comfortable than many of those in a far more expensive property. Everything was squeaky-clean. The staff were obliging and friendly. This property is within easy walking distance of a few really good restaurants, and it's rather nice to stay in a more suburban area for a change. The bus transport is quick and cheap into Darwin city.... Don't expect anything fancy; this hotel was built in 1974 and I'd say some of the fittings and decor haven't changed since then. But we'd certainly go back. See more

03.01.2022 Traveller rating: "Good value for money. We felt very comfortable." 17 Nov 2012 A TripAdvisor Member ... Although the motel is already gekomen a little on in years and individual: small renovation would need things, we felt very comfortable. The room was very clean and spacious with a small balcony. It has. Not far from a bus stop and a store for shopping Super Wi-Fi connection.
