15.02.2022 There is so much support for the autistic child but who's supporting the parents? This 9-week program teaches parents how to understand theirs and their autisti...c child's thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and provide strategies so that they are better able to emotionally support their child. Created with time-poor parents in mind, the program is delivered as bite-sized audios and video lessons, as well as online counselling support and live Q&A evening webinars. If you can find 2-hours a week to listen in the car or read in a waiting room, you can make a profound difference to your family's life. Applicable for parents of toddlers to autistic adults. The program can easily be funded through a child's NDIS plan and requires a simple 1-minute registration form to get started. The $1,495 fee gives you lifetime access to the program as well as free access to all 14 other parenting programs and ebooks the Parental Stress Centre provides. The fee also includes LIFETIME ONLINE COUNSELLING SUPPORT. Join over 500 parents who have already used the Parental Stress Centre to make positive, long lasting change. 14.01.2022 WHAT TO SAY WHEN THE KIDS ARE FIGHTING... (NB - This is lesson 16 from our 28 Day Make My Child Listen Challenge - Prefer to listen? Click here to here the audio of this lesson - https://bit.ly/38FSdQQ). Sibling rivalry can feel like the bane of a parent’s existence! Some kids just seem to fight all the time. They just cannot get along, or so it feels that way....Continue reading
14.01.2022 IS IT REALLY MY FAULT? If my child won’t sleep and my child won’t eat If my child throws a Tantrum because they wanted more sweets Is it really my fault?... If my child has some fears or they struggle with life If they have a fight with their sibling or get into strife Is it really my fault? If my child has a problem with no immediate fix And my child feels unhappy, gets angry and kicks It is really my fault? If they won’t do their chores, if they give me cheek If they are outright defiant and lose their games for a week Is it really my fault? If my child struggles with learning or has special needs If my child isn’t perfect or doesn’t always succeed Is it really my fault? Coz when I lie in bed at the end of the day Guilt Overrides me, I make myself pay You should have done better. You should have done more. You’re failing your children. Their lives are done for. Other parents don’t struggle They know what to do. Their children behave better. So it must be you. But Hang on a minute! Says a voice from afar I don’t think you realise How wrong you are! You seem to have forgotten how a life story goes It’s not a straight line. It has highs and has lows. Life is not perfect and neither are you You’re doing the best you can and your child is too Both of you are learning how to make sense of it all How to learn from your mistakes and get up from your falls. Stop trying to be perfect, let go of that goal Stop beating yourself up, get out of this hole It was never your job to get your child’s life right They have their own pathway, they’ll be alright. The best thing you can do to help your children grow up Is to work on yourself and fill up YOUR cup. Learn how to love and how to let people in How to roll with life’s challenges and feel peace from within Model the skill to fall in love with it all And they’ll know what to do when they happen to fall. So when you lie in bed at the end of the day Asking, is this my fault? You now want to say. I am not perfect. That I now see. I too am learning to be the best I can be. No point in blaming or making me wrong I’ll find the lesson instead and keeping moving on. Tomorrow is a new day and I CHOOSE to be The most loving version of me I can be. If you follow this path it will open the door For your child to feel joy, more than you ever hoped for Because they’ll know the secret to truly be free Is to practice self-love and a healthy relationship with ‘me’. 01.01.2022 EVERY DAY I PROMISED I WOULDN'T YELL, BUT EVERYDAY I DID. I just couldn't see any way out of it. I swore to myself every night as I beat myself up, that tomorrow would be different.... And I would try so hard to start the morning calm, but the kids' behaviour always got the better of me. What was I supposed to do? I couldn't let them get the better of me. I had to set boundaries, right? I had to let them know that their behaviour was not acceptable. I had to show them the difference between right and wrong. It was my job to tell them what to do, wasn't it? So why weren't they listening? Why was it all so hard? Why did I go to bed every night feeling like the worst parent in the world? Why did it feel like yelling at the kids was becoming a habit that would come to ruin their lives? Argh! All these thoughts kept rolling around and around and around in my head! I didn't know how to stop them. I didn't know how to stop ME! But then I discovered the way out. I found tools to turn it all around. I learnt. I practiced. I changed. And I became a reformed yeller! If you can relate to these feelings and feel challenged with the task of being a calm parent who's still got boundaries, I have the answers you need! This FREE webinar, created and presented by qualified counsellor and therapist, Jackie Hall will help you to: - Understand why you don't stop shouting even though you've promised yourself (many times) that you would - Learn how anger can become like an addiction - Learn the two approaches the brain needs to break the habit of yelling - Learn In-the-moment strategies for staying calm, even when all hell breaks loose - Learn three tools for reducing your child's anger both in the moment and in the long term. I will also be taking some time to answer a few questions too so you can learn how to apply all this valuable knowledge. I know firsthand, how heartbreaking it is to see that look of fear or sadness on your child's face when you've lost it. I know how many tears get dropped because we feel so out of control and useless as a parent. I know how much you probably beat yourself up for it too. But I also know there IS a way out. Come and join me ONLINE TODAY and let's turn it around. Even if you only have a little bit of impatience and it's not yet escalated to blow outs, come to this webinar so your days don't ever spiral into tears, guilt and disappointment in the parent you've become.
