25.01.2022 Lets talk about pigmentations! Melanin production is a normal process in the skins cellular activity, and gives rise to skin color or pigmentations, which are found in melanocyte cells, located in the basal layer of the epidermis. Melanin production is a very complicated biochemical reaction that is driven by tyrosine protein,which activated by tyrosines enzyme in an oxidative chain reaction.... There several type of pigmentations: 1)Melasma: Melasma is an overproduction of melanin and is a problem normally found in women. Its generally associated with pregnancy or the use of birth control pills .unprotected sun exposure will also contribute melasma, as will over irritation of the skin and skin injuries such as picking at acne cysts. 2)Solar Lentigine: Found in exposed area of the body, usually singular with medium brown to dark coloring,Also referred to as age spots, found to be part of the free radical damage process and are deposited lipofuscins. 3)Post-Inflammatory Pigmentation: Caused by injury to the dermal or epidermal layer,inflammatory response,and exposure to UV during recovery phase of wound . 3)Ephelides(Freckles): Small macules that appear on nose,cheeks,and chin during childhood. 4)Polkiderma: Combination of elastin loss, telangiectasia, and hypo pigmentations, seen down both sides of neck with clear area under chin. Treatment options : Chemical peeling: Tyrosinase inhibitor and Enzyme exfoliation. Mechanical Exfoliation: Microdermabrasion is very effective when used in conjunction with tyrosinase inhibitors. 12.01.2022 Whilst today we are happy for our fellow therapists in Victoria and NSW given the go ahead for June 1 to reopen we sit here in the Amazing state of WA with zero cases daily and still having to wait 3 weeks for our reopen day ! Whilst we understand the premiers plan in the beginning we do not understand his strategy now ?!
