24.01.2022 Congratulations to both Lyn Clancy & Sharyn Bischa on making the final of the Minor Singles. Some great bowls played, with Sharyn prevailing to become the 2020 Minor Singles Champ.

24.01.2022 Another day of Singles, and a few more surprises, and long marathons as well! In the game between Kerry Blow and Sue Hancock it was neck and neck all the way a...nd going into last end it was 24 all! What a great game this was and no one could pick who would win this one. Lucky Kerry managed to get that last shot and came out the winner 25 - 24. Christine Sheridan and Denise Hargreaves also had a tough battle, Chrissy taking the lead for most of the game but Denise wouldn’t go away and ended up winning 25 - 21. Jan Slater and Elaine Denner this was another sea-sawing game with Elaine coming out victorious 25 - 20. The longest game of the morning has to go to Lyn Clancy and Susan Wilson. The final score in this game was 25 - 21 to Lynne Clancy but they both battled all the way and it was a tough game. Some of the scores on other games might look like run-away wins but it was very tough out there and the heat played havoc with the players. Well done to all those who played today, either winners or losers, you all played to the best of your ability and it was a pleasure to watch these game. Thank you players for keeping our Umpire Judy Bishop busy she had so many calls she hardly had time to sit. Thank you also to all the markers, without you we could not hold these events. 21.01.2022 We are now down to the serious part of the Minor Singles which will be played Wednesday 4th November. Today’s games were both played in a great spirit and both... games finished on the same score. Dinah Nutchey Robinson got off to a good start and it wasn’t until the 11th end that Lynne Clancy took the lead and kept the lead all the way to the finish with Dinah hot on her heals. I had the pleasure of marking this game and it close all the way, both ladies playing some great bowls. Lyn won the game 25-18. The second game was between Sharyn Bischa and Ann Worboys. The score in this game finished 25-18 also. Sharyn showed her determination to win and led throughout the game but Ann was determined to make Sharyn work for her win and they had some great ends. Anne came within 2 shots on the22nd end the score then being 19 Sharyn & 17 to Ann. Great games by all four ladies and we are assured of a great final. Good luck to both Lynne and Sharyn. See more

20.01.2022 Just picked up this update a few minutes ago....... Zone championships Fours Opens Joseph Clarke, Rod Farmer, Cory Daley and Kent Price (Park Beach) defeated Josh Carney, David Carney, Jake Waterhouse and Matt Carter (Port City) 30-15... OH YEAH!!!!!

20.01.2022 Winners today of the Club fours. The score was 20-11. The score was no indication of the closeness of the game. Both skips played exceptional bowls. The game in the beginning was very close but Amanda's team took the lead from Kaylene's team.

20.01.2022 Both games went to the final end, but no shocks, teams Mandi & Kaylene both prevailed.

19.01.2022 Not a very good start to our Club Singles today, games were cancelled at 9.30 as it did not stop raining, and hasn’t stopped all day. The green keeper organise...d the greens but it was just too wet to ask the ladies to play. ALL of Round 1 will now be played Tuesday morning roll-up 9.00am. We will have 2 full greens as we will now have 12 games to be played. I would like to thank all the ladies Judy and I phoned this morning offering their time to mark for us. Round 2 will still be played Wednesday 12th. Let’s hope this rain disappears before then. Wishing all players again Good Luck! See more

18.01.2022 Well the final of the triples is finalised, it was a great game although the score line does not indicate that. Christie’s team got off to a good start, and at... one stage the score was 3 all. Mandy’s team scored a 4 and then Chrissy’s team had to play catch up. Mandy and her team were all on their game today, and it would have been difficult for anyone to beat them. Huge Congratulations to Ruth, Ros and Mandy on your win, and to Jill, Rhonda and Chrissy, we made the finals when others didn’t so well done to Chrissy’s team. 09.01.2022 The Final of Minor Singles was played today and even thought the score doesn’t indicate it was a good game with both ladies playing some great shots. Sharon to...ok an early leading 8 -0 before Lyn found her form and scored. Both ladies were very nervous and that showed in some of the bowls. But credit must be given to Sharon she did bowl exceptionally well. Thank you to our President Denise for marking the final and also to our umpire Judy Bishop. See more

09.01.2022 So sorry for my delay in posting the results of the final, had a trip to Dentist and only just have time to put up results. The game started off in Mandi’s fav...our with Kaylene a little slow off the mark, but Kaylene soon found her form and with Debbie Doyle giving her lots of support. The game was even until around the 10th end when Kaylene and Debbie picked up a 6 and that put them well in the lead. It was a great game to watch, and I must make mention of Ann Oak, as she played some great saving bowls. The score ended up Kaylene and Debbie winning 20 Ann and Mandi 10. Congratulations to all 4 players on the good sportsmanship this game was played in. See more

09.01.2022 Great to see the Bowls community rallying to help clubs less fortunate to ours. We are so fortunate at Park Beach to have come through the Covid shutdown battered and bruised, but still in great shape relative to what could have been!

03.01.2022 Results of Quarter finals today. Close game between Ruth Jupp and Kerry Frail, they played 29 ends so was a tough game. Ruth came out the winner and will now ...meet Amanda Monck in the Semi Finals which will be played Tuesday. Lynne Clancy and Penny Russell also played 29 ends. Lynne Clancy took the early lead and lead for the first half of the game. Penny found her form and fought back to come out eventual winner 25- 21. Penny will now play Denise Hargreaves in the Semi Final Tuesday. I am sure it would have been a tough game between Denise Hargreaves and Elaine Denner, not much of her but she sure is a fighter. Denise won that game 25 - 17. Hopefully we will have a good roll up to watch the semi-finals Tuesday and the final will be Thursday. See more
