22.01.2022 We thought you might like to see how the new Parkdale Yacht Club is shaping up. Works are progressing well, despite COVID-19 and are on track for completion in September. The works will ensure the Club's future for years to come and open the facility up for use to other groups.

15.01.2022 The work on the new club house progressing nicely... getting excited!!

15.01.2022 Good morning Long Beach Group of Sailing Clubs, Given the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Beaumaris Yacht Club has made the difficult decis...ion to cancel the Long Beach Regatta scheduled for this Sunday. Sporting codes around the country are in the process of cancelling or significantly curtailing their operations, and major events nationwide are being cancelled left, right and centre. While sailing is different to many sports in that it is predominantly conducted outside and in semi-isolation, there are still times during regattas when we need to come together in large numbers: such as information sessions and presentation functions. These aspects could be modified however once we get to that point we are implicitly acknowledging that we know there are risks and are choosing to run the event regardless. There is also a significant PR angle we need to consider. To run a large, inter-club event in the shadow of a global pandemic while events are being cancelled all around us looks dismissive and arrogant. This is not a sailing stereotype we should be looking to reinforce. This is a situation which is changing hourly, and is likely to get much worse before it gets better. Rather than postpone the decision until Thursday, we thought it would be better to make the decision eary so we all have some clarity for the rest of the week. I know this decision won't please everyone, some of you will think we are being overly cautious, and others will think we have waited too long, but at the end of the day the health and safety of the participants, and the future of the event itself should take precedence. As the COVID-19 crisis is clearly beyond the control of any of us, I hope we can count on your support to host the Long Beach Regatta in 2021, away from the spectre of a global health emergency. BYC will contact those who have entered to inform them of the cancellation, however we would appreciate it if you can all put the word out at your respective clubs and pass on our reasons for cancelling. Regards, Will Sharp | Commodore | Beaumaris Yacht Club Inc. and the Long Beach Group of Sailing Clubs.

02.01.2022 1000 reasons to smile... Great turnout from the Victorian Windsurfer Class at Chelsea Yacht Club Inc Victoria Australia. Great day of action with 3 long races... in some big messy SW swell and 10-15 knots building to 20 for the last. Luke Meyers, Jude Smale, Will Grimshaw and Peter Monkhouse were the standouts but everyone had a great day. With 17 racing the Windsurfer army took the $500 for the biggest fleet and the gun performances of the fleet also grabbed another $500 for the best performance on Yardstick. Nice - the will put to some awesome fun at the of year Super Sunday and promoting the Class in Vico. Nice.

01.01.2022 Lets grab the cash... Saturday 15th Chelsea Yacht Club Inc Victoria Australia $500 to the Class if we can get the biggest fleet - we'll need 25-30 racing to nai...l it. And another $500 if we can be rockstar racers among the other classes. If we can we'll use this $ to help with future State activities and fun stuff. Its a counting Parkdale Yacht Club club race. $15 entry includes lunch. 9.30 briefing, first race from 10. Enter here: https://www.chelseayachtclub.com.au/events/47591/
