24.01.2022 During this pandemic, many of us are working from home. Here are some WFH ergnomic tips as published in the Winter edition of "Osteo Life" magazine: Workspace: check out the recommendations from Worksafe Victoria here- bit.ly/3eHzuGo. Make sure your chair is not only comfortable, but can be adjusted for height and angle. Get Moving: "Motion is Lotion" - movement is the best way to mobilise and lubricate stiff or restricted joints and muscles... Exercise: Go for that walk, reverse shoulder rolls, shoulder blade squeezes, general stretching etc. You will likely find you are more productive as your energy levels will be refreshed! Move: as often as possible (are you sensing a theme here!!!) Set a reminder: this will make sure you don't forget to get moving! How is your mental health?: Make sure you talk to your employer or a health professional if you feel isolated while working from home. lifeline.org.au or beyondblue.org.au At POC, our osteopaths are more than happy to assist you with pain and discomfort. This may be via a Telehealth (virtual) appointment where we can assess and work through things like stretches/exercises, or URGENT hands on "Face to Face" treatment if deemed appropriate. Call 9580 1820 or book a Telehealth appointment at www.parkdaleosteo.com.au. Stay well and safe!

23.01.2022 Life is showing signs of normalcy and we are LOVING it! Didn't miss the traffic and trying to find a park in Parkdale though . With more people out on the road, please make sure you're allowing enough time to get to your massage, osteo or yoga session. This allows us to keep the flow of patients through the clinic to keep patients and staff safe

23.01.2022 We’ve had to wait a while for this #thankscovid but something new has finally arrived at POC and Parkdale Shopping Village... our updated practitioner sign!

23.01.2022 An update from our local MP and links to DHHS regarding the latest Covid case in Melbourne. The case and exposure sites are relatively local so it is imperative that patients check the exposure sites and if attended - test and quarantine. Do NOT attend the clinic! In addition to this, fitted face masks are again required while indoors, so please ensure you have one with you prior to entering the clinic. As always, we are actively maintaining Covidsafe procedures with cleaning and mandatory protocols and remain open for business.

20.01.2022 Motivation... Can anyone spare some? Because COVID seems to be churning through it at a rapid pace. . Struggling in iso to find ‘movement motivation’? Feeling as though you’re on a slippery slope with your exercise prescription and need a re-hash? Confused with the squat you were advised to do.? Was it sumo/goblet/split/single leg Aaaaggghh! .... Then fear not! The POC team can help! We may be limited with our hands on capabilities with stage 4 restrictions, but it doesn’t mean we can’t assist you in other ways. For example, we use Physitrack as a means to share with you appropriate exercises (stretch/strength/mobility) to assist with your musculoskeletal complaint. You will receive this in email format, and for those with smart phones you can download physiApp to access your unique program anywhere..and at anytime! Cool hey? . Physitrack is so simple and provides a visual (both videos and pictures) explanation of your exercises prescribed by your Osteopath. So please don’t hesitate to give us a call 9580 1820. Stay safe and stay active!

19.01.2022 Many of you will know that we take your temperature on arrival at the clinic as part of our Covidsafe process. On a warm day, your body temperature increases - especially if you've been exercising or sitting in the car! If your temperature is over 37.6 degrees, you will need to wait outside the clinic until it drops and then you may come inside (Maximum 2 in the waiting area). Perhaps allow yourself an extra few minutes to cool down and drink plenty of water - always a good thing!

14.01.2022 Temperature checks constituted an initial component of our Covidsafe risk assessment prior to entry of the clinic however, in light of the current figures for Victoria we deem that it is no longer necessary to take your temperature upon entry to the clinic. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate these times, especially those of you who have had to spend a bit of time outside to cool down on those hot days!
