25.01.2022 And a few more pictures of the workshop.

25.01.2022 How to turn a bit of metal into a $400 knife Ever wondered how a blacksmith turns a worthless hunk of metal into a work of art? We went along to watch Balla...rat knife master Adam Parker craft a kitchen knife from scratch in one day! (Thanks to Adam at Parker Knives Australia, and Andy and Max for letting us peek behind the scenes!)

25.01.2022 Had a father son team doing one of my basic courses today. Check out how 12 yo Jimmy was grinding.

24.01.2022 The result's of this weekend's damascus course. 1075+ 15N20 twisted 9.5" blade, Micarta collar with Tassy blackwood handle.

23.01.2022 I really hate to disappoint anyone but all courses for this year are booked out, unless there is a cancellation somewhere. But big things are afoot for Parker knives. The Made of Ballarat tourism campaign has been launched with yours truly featuring heavily in this professional production. I can only imagine what interest it will generate. I'm also in the process of moving my workshop to the family farm where I hope to make accomodation on site and a substantialy bigger... work space that should be able to cater for even more students per course. I will of course have to employ the services of some other knife makers if Im to do this, but the plan is to be able to offer the same high quality instruction to more people while giving me my life back a little. This move should be complete by the end of Jan next year, all going well. So please don't despair about not being able to book a course this year. A huge amount of work will be done for your future benefit early next year. Cheers, Adam Parker. See more

21.01.2022 Hi everyone I would like to make this post in response to the Covid19 virus and classes. Recently I have moved some classes back at the request of students and in the name of doing the right thing. Because of the cancellation of a couple of shows I usually do in May I have been able to move things around a bit like this weekends damascus class. This means the next class is the forging class on the 18th 19 th of April . If the students want to I can move that back to the ...2 /3 rd May. That will give a two full months without classes. If students or the Government arent comfortable with the situation after that I can do my best to shuffle things around again to later dates. I expect any students who show symptoms of the virus to let me know and not attend the class. I can either push their date back or refund their deposit if they like. On a much brighter note the new workshop is comming along nicely and I expect it to be a functional workshop by the end of April. The finer details of the accomodation may take a little longer depending on finances but Im realy excited by how it is going to look. The transformation from 1950's abandoned woodshed to the ultimate knifemaking workshop is quite amazing. See more

15.01.2022 Well this weekends class was the first to be effected by this dam virus, with a student pulling out due to his wife self isolating. The positive thing was that Steve got extra time to complete two knives. Here's what we made.
