25.01.2022 To put on an event like today you need support from volunteers and sponsors...Mick Horan from Central West Glass when approached immediately excepted the invitation to sponsor our CENTENNIAL INVITATIONAL...thanks Mick and we look forward to seeing you at the club for our Birthday celebrations tomorrow.

23.01.2022 Every bowler who attended our Birthday/Social Bowls Day went into the draw for 5 great shirts and one Bowls NSW jacket. Phil collected the jacket yesterday and this much sort after shirt donated by Bowls Australia was just now collected by Nick Kelly.

23.01.2022 This list certainly answers a lot of questions beginners may have and offers a friendly reminder to more experienced bowlers.

17.01.2022 Red sky at night...Twilight bowlers delight. Thanks Nat for some amazing photos.

15.01.2022 MEGA...MEGA...RAFFLE TONIGHT...you RIPPA. Extra meat trays...extra vouchers...better chance of winning. Tonight...DON'T MISS OUT.

15.01.2022 Many highlights from the CENTRAL WEST GLASS CENTENNIAL INVITATIONAL today but the battle in the mini Pennant format final between Wilbur Harris skipping the Parkes Pirates and Geoff Leonard skipping a team from the Railway was a joy to watch. Both teams fed off the cheers and banter from the crowd and rose to the occasion. In fact you couldn't have asked for two better characters on such an occasion. Geoff Leonard...Wal Grant and Greg Howlett did the Railway proud and were on...ly 2 behind going into the last end. They held 1 after the Pirates Guy Ellery and Steve Turner had bowled...then Geoff and Wilbur put on a show for the crowd...before the final bowl of the final...final Bowls of the day was released by Wilbur. With the crowd encouraging him he chased after it...it trailed the jack; bumped out the Railway shot bowl and put the jack into a pack giving the Pirates 4. Thank you to both teams for playing a CRACKER and giving the CENTRAL WEST GLASS CENTENNIAL INVITATIONAL the best conclusion we could have asked for. Great bowling and sportsmanship from both teams. See more

13.01.2022 Huge thanks to Maree Grant and friends for taking the 2020 updated version on the left. Both these magnificent photos now hanging on the wall near the bar. Brilliant.

13.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com//2152/permalink/3499896170048146/ Tks Kim...

12.01.2022 Team Went...Tom Casey, Greg Townsend and Mick Went are the Major Triples Champs for 2020. A solid team effort with Greg certainly firing in the middle part of the game. It's him on the jack. Good effort from Rob Irving, Martin Tighe and Gary McPhee...tough hot windy conditions made for a difficult game. Well played fellas.

12.01.2022 Great celebration yesterday...look, ideas are good but support for them are so much more important. The men's and the women's bowls Presidents...the Millers were amazing throughout the whole weekend. Baldy and Mark...when showing off our club, the greens we have make it so we are excited for visiting bowlers to use them. The bar staff were busy all weekend and got on the green for a cracking game against the Belrose guys yesterday. ... The clubs throughout the whole of Australia and a few individuals who donated bowls shirts too. The Twilight bowlers and teams who turned up and played a huge part in getting us up to a 100 bowlers on the green. The sponsors... CENTRAL WEST GLASS BUTTABEEF STAR HOTEL THE BEST CAR WASH IN PARKES BUGMAN CHAMPION POST STEVE MCGRATH'S TREE SERVICES Finally the 100 bowlers...characters...who turned up. Unfortunately none of us will be around for the 200th Birthday but we have set the bar very high.

11.01.2022 Twilight Bowls Thursday night...from 6:30...all welcome.

10.01.2022 Major Triples Final today...Saturday 10 am. Team Went v Team McPhee. Good bowls fellas. Below are photos from a right Minor Triples game last night between Team Harris and Team Ward. Martin Tighe was the stand out bowler on the night helping Team Ward defeat as you can see in this photo a frustrated Wilbur Harris. Entertaining game though.

08.01.2022 Incredibly shirt 75 from Bundaberg smelt of rum...and the shirt we got yesterday from Norfolk had a lovely pine smell. Still waiting for shirts from Bong Bong in NSW and Cockburn, from WA....or maybe not. Bong Bong NSW...It’s an Aboriginal phrase meaning 'out of sight'.... Cockburn, WA...named in honour of Vice Admiral Sir George Cockburn. Well I'm glad we cleared that up.

08.01.2022 This is what annoys me about this club...for weeks I've been complaining about Moles and Rabbits up on the top green but no one listens. Now it looks like a scene from Caddyshack.

07.01.2022 Tom and Maree were successful in the ladies zone Mixed Pairs Final today at Mudgee against Pauline and Chris. They will now join our clubs ladies 4s team in the state finals at Malua Bay in Feb 2021. Tom and Maree played well but so did the Mudgee pair so the game went to an extra end with Parkes winning by a shot. Thanks to the ladies association for putting the game on and to Mudgee for hosting. Warm thanks to Chris and Pauline for an excellent contest. After the game Maree asked the Zone officials some important questions concerning the finals...Tom asked is Karen Murphy still in it.

03.01.2022 Joan Simpson raised the Centennial flag today kindly donated by Carpet Court and our Birthday/Social Bowls Day is under way.

01.01.2022 For any of the clubs who donated shirts please find a list of attending bowlers and the shirts they were proud to wear on our Birthday. Thank you so much.

01.01.2022 A couple of more shirts arrived and they came from overseas. Might explain why it took so long but we are still just as happy to receive them. John Watson's name was 1 of the 5 winners to come out of the draw which included every player who turned up on the day. He choose this beauty from mighty NORFOLK...yeah, I said FOLK. And Bernie turned up on the day but was ill...so collected this yesterday...from New Plymouth Bowling Club. Still so amazed at the generosity of all the individuals and bowling clubs involved.
