25.01.2022 Lightning sparked 15 fires across the Mid Lachlan Valley RFS region on the weekend and with Parkes forecast to peak at 43 degrees today with possible storms this afternoon, there is a Total Fire Ban in place across the region again. Please take care out there everyone one and please report any fires to 000 immediately.

17.01.2022 Thomas Forrester, Parkes' oldest surviving WWII veteran, was presented with a commerative medallion and certificate, acknowledging the significance of the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. . Thomas served approximately four years in the Australian Army during WWII. Thank you so much for your service to our country, Thomas.
