07.01.2022 MOVEMBER Did you know? 1 in 6 Men in Australia will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in their lifetime. Early detection of Prostate Cancer can allow a 98% chance of survival rate beyond 5 years. Late detection decreases the chances of survival beyond 5 years to 26%. ... Testicular Cancer is the most common Cancer in young Men and rates are on the rise. 44% of Men do not know how to perform a self examination of their testicles (Follow the link below to find an excellent How-To guide!). Globally, Men die on average 6 years earlier than Women, and for reasons that are largely preventable. World wide, on average 1 Man dies by suicide every minute of every day. 3 out of 4 suicides in Australia are Men. If you, like us, are shocked at any of these facts, take this as a reminder to check in on your Fellas, not just now, but always. Remind them to Self Check regularly and to book in with their Doctor if something is feeling amiss. If you or your significant other have found an abnormal lump or are experiencing urinary changes your Doctor may send you for a simple Ultrasound to detect signs of Testicular or Prostate Cancer. These examinations take less than half an hour and are non-invasive. A small task for peace of mind. Did you support Men's Health this Movember? If so show us your Mo below! https://au.movember.com/get-involved/give-monthly
