20.01.2022 We were very fortunate to have 'Four Strings' here to serenade us and our patrons before our One Act Plays on Tuesday night (15.12.2020)

19.01.2022 Auditions - Dubbo, paid roles. Open auditions for the low-budget short film Nothing Else Matters, scheduled to be filmed in Dubbo February/March 2021 (date to... be advised). These are paid acting roles with the main filming to occur over 1 to 2 days. You do not need to have any paid or film acting experience, but any previous acting experience (even doing Drama at school) would be an advantage. Auditions will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021. If you are interested in auditioning but cannot make the date/times, please fill out the registration form and outline your availability. Please note: you will not be paid to audition. THE COUNSELOR - male, 35 - 60 years old, friendly and encouraging, good at his job but maybe doesn’t always put his heart and soul into it these days (think Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting or Matthew Broderick in just about anything since 2005) THE STUDENT - male, 20-22, quiet, fragile but strong, willing to believe in others and in himself, even if life hasn’t always been easy. Aboriginal actors are strongly encouraged to audition. Please complete the registration form and you will receive a confirmation email/text of your audition time. Send a message if you have any questions: https://forms.gle/F7S3q2Zqw7S7KLMj6

07.01.2022 Our first improv workshop for juniors went very well today, with lots of imagination and inspiration. Hope to see some of you big kids tomorrow!

06.01.2022 Are there any decent male roles in Turning Tables? Absolutely! There is only one male role, but what a role it is! One token male will play four different men, giving the opportunity to portray four very different personalities: Jimmy- the easist role in the production, Jimmy is Margots love from long ago that was tragically killed in a plane crash. Jimmy is a memory flash back when Margot sings "I'll never love again". Nate - is the love interest of Mel. Singing the Bruno Ma...rs song "Just the way you are" early in act one, Nate proposes to Mel, only to get cold feet later in the show. Eventually he realises Mel is the only one for him, and winning the wild card entry into the local karaoke competition, he takes a chance on the well known hit "You are the Reason" with the intention of winning her back. Little did he know, Mel and Tash also entered the competition! Alex - is Gina's ex. Alex is not a nice person, and turns up with the intention of claiming back what he considers is his property! But Gina has put the past behind her. Will she be strong enough to resist? Hugo - the local centre handyman. Hugo turns up periodically during the show, much to Margot's (secret) delight. After a misunderstanding over what Hugo intends to do with his'drill' Hugo and Margot sing the Kenny Loggins hit "Danger Zone". The 'man of the show' is also invoved in songs 'Turning Tables' and 'This is me'. Make no mistake, the varied characters make this role a challenge, but will be no end of fun for the right guy. The costume/wig changes alone make it worthwhile. Details: www.parkesmandd.com.au

04.01.2022 What a wonderful turnout for our midway night performance! We were greeted at the door by the beautiful notes of Esther Bruce's Saxophone, then were able to sing along to Christmas Carols performed by the talented students of Musica Arioso and their Director Gail Smith! The cast of Mother Duck and the Golden Goose brought it home with an outstanding performance! ... Tickets still available for the remaining shows! www.parkesmandd.com.au
