25.01.2022 The new Child Care Systme unpacked: As of Monday NO gap fee will be charged for sessions of care. Accounts will show $0.00 sessions form Monday the 6th April through to June 28th. Services will receive 50% of the total fee payable from a focus week in February from 6th April until 28 June. Therefore cutting our income by 50%. In some instances services are now receiving less funding moving forward then they have been receiving to date. For example if the CCS contribution was ...previously 60% the service will now only receive 50% It is important that children who are attending continue to be signed in and out using the same system. As far as accounts go to the end of this week, I will endeavour to have them sent out by Sunday. Accounts that are still owing money as at Sunday will still be required to continue payments through this time. Families using our direct debit payment option will have their accounts suspended for this time UNLESS your account is in arrears. If this is the case, your payments will continue until such time as your account is up to date. Families wishing to continue to keep their children at home/are working from home/or are self isolating you can continue to do so without it affecting your enrolment. This is a very trying time and the situation changes rapidly. We will continue to provide the same standard of care that we always do. Although some activities and experiences may be impacted by numbers and staff availability we assure you that the learning with continue. PELC staff are committed to ensuring continuity of care through such an uncertain time. We had hoped that yesterdays announcement would be implemented differently, however, we are embracing the changes and look forward to maintaining contact and our valued relationships with families. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. The service phone will not be manned over the weekend but I will be continuing to check emails and messages See more

11.01.2022 Mental Health Day was officially held last week during Mental Health Week 2019. MIND YOUR HEALTH Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Here at PELC we take the Mental Health of our families, children and particularly our staff seriously.... Did you know that owning a pet can assist in reducing anxiety and depression? So what better way to bring a smile to everyone's faces than with Puppies! Today we arranged Nicole Murphy who is a dedicated foster mum for Capricorn Animal Aid Rockhampton who brought along 'Wolfie' & 'Lulu' for some snuggles and to lift the spirits of everyone at PELC. Wolfie and Lulu are 10weeks old and are both fully wormed, vaccinated and desexed (when of age) and are up for adoption along with their 3 other siblings. If you think that you would like to give ones of these cuties a forever home, pls keep an eye out for them on the Capricorn Animal Aid Rockhampton or feel free to msg us here at PELC and we can point you in the right direction. Take time for your Mental Health! #qmhwtaketime #wellbeing #valuementalhealth #mentalhealthawareness

07.01.2022 BIG NEWS!! This afternoon Scott Morrison announced the biggest assistance package for our sector to date. The relief package will provide free child care to around one million families; and will ensure that as many of the child care sector’s 13,000 child care and early learning services as possible keep their doors open for families that need to work and to support vulnerable children during the Coronavirus pandemic. We certainly understand families position with regard to s...elf isolation and choosing to refrain from using care. This package will allow families to be assured that their enrolments remain there for them when they choose to return to the service. As already mentioned, the increase in allowable absent days will also assist with this . It is paramount that services survive on the other side to enable families and communities to return to pre epidemic normality. An ESSESTIAL WORKER by definition amid our current crisis, is ANYONE who continues to work. While we praise those on the "front line", everyone who continues to work while they can is fully supported by us through this time. While the fine print is still to be released it is believed to provide significant support to families as well as ensuring that we are able to continue to provide care through this time. Many services have already closed their doors leaving staff and families with no alternatives. While this package is very much welcomed services have already taken quite a hit. For families that have not been able to access care due to financial changes amid the rapid changes due to COVID-19 restrictions, you may now be able to access not only your normal sessions of care, but additional sessions of care without any further financial burden. These fee changes will occur from Monday 6th April. The reporting and submission system will change and while we don't know exactly how this will look at this stage we ask that you all sit tight and we will pass this information on as it comes to hand. Those families who need to continue to access the service can be assured that the same standards of care and continuity of learning experiences are being provided. Our services hygiene practices are of an Exceeding Quality standard and we continue to maintain this level of practice while also incorporating the current COVID-19 recommendations. Finally we thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for the patience and understanding as we navigate through this crisis. As things change quite rapidly we are doing the best we canto minimise the impact as mush as possible. As always please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Stay safe, wash your hands and support one another. See more
