24.01.2022 We would like to wish Dr Reza a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
24.01.2022 Today, Dr Reza and the nurses had an emergency after hours call for a particular essential worker who was feeling unwell. On arrival we found our patient had a severe tummy ache and was stressed as he had a very important job coming up... We sent away a blood and facecal sample, and the results have just come back! Our patient had a VERY high level of chocolate in their blood, which we deemed the reason for the tummy ache. Dr Reza advised the patient that he ought to stick to carrots if he would want to get his important job done and we sent him on his way!

21.01.2022 ARTHRITIS IN PETS As we come into the colder months, we tend to notice our joints getting more stiff and sore, and believe it or not our pets experience this too. Although sore and stiff joints are most common in our older patients, arthritis and joint degeneration isnt just determined by age, meaning younger patients can be affected too. Fortunately there are some treatments which have been developed to help aid joint health and function in both dogs and cats. 17.01.2022 As we welcome spring, we start to see a lot more baby birds around, but what should you do if youve found one? Any sick or injured birds need to be assessed by a professional. You can determine this by asking yourself: Does the baby look alert and responsive? Can the bird perch on my finger? Is there any visible injuries on the bird? If in doubt, call the closest vet clinic. Firstly It depends on the life stage of the bird:... Is the bird fully feathered? Fledglings are old enough to be out of the nest, but are not yet competent flyers. This means they have used their instinct to fly out of the nest, but havent mastered landings or takeoffs from the ground. These birds usually hop around learning important skills they need to survive and parents are usually within calling distance. If a baby is in unsafe area, A simple nest can be made for baby birds by placing a diagonal stick in a box or container that has drainage holes in the bottom and an open top. Place this at the base or securely in the tree where the baby was found. This helps protect the baby from domestic animals, while still allowing it to leave and be seen/heard by its parents. (See a reference picture below). If the bird is not fully feathered, it is a nestling and has been accidentally removed from the nest too early. If a nest cannot be found, it must be bought to animal professional to be taken care of as they are vulnerable to starvation and hypothermia. Please also remember to keep your pets restricted to your yard and on a leash whilst walking to avoid disturbing baby birds (and other wildlife) that may be on the ground.

12.01.2022 Today we celebrate VET NURSE DAY! We would like to thank our nurses; Claire, Tyler, Simone and Kirralee, for their dedication, compassion and hard work. Being a vet nurse isnt all about the puppy and kitten cuddles, they are the hands, eyes and ears of the clinic. Monitoring anaesthetics, placing IV catheters, collecting blood samples, calculating and administering medication, comforting sick patients and helping families say goodbye, are just some of the very important roles our nurses do on a day to day basis (while usually simultaneously getting peed and pooped on!). So today, we say THANK YOU!
