14.01.2022 7 December at 22:55 Melbourne "JUST A NOTE TO CLEAR UP SOME OTHER LOCAL RUMOURS" regarding my Garden & Building Supplies business at 2-16 Hopetoun Rd, Park Orchards. After so many years, "I" AM PERSONALLY CLOSING DOWN THE YARD AT THE END OF DECEMBER, however it will still be OPEN 7 Days as usual until the 31st December. .......** If it wasn't for a BROKEN 'GENTLEMAN'S' AGREEMENT BY the NEW LANDLORD (WITH A HANDSHAKE and I made notes - plus there was another person at the ...table) and a MASSIVE RENT RISE WITHOUT a DECENT Lease term confirmed for prospective buyers - (for me to sell my business), I would have had the business sold ages ago. I had genuine buyers who have been in this industry for years, and lost them due to someone else's greed. I actually OWN all the buildings, trucks and machinery as most people know, but sadly with my health issues, hospital and treatments and 2 more operations in the new year, I have no time left now to take all the buildings down or sell them. Everything else is for sale. It seems that the more some people have - the more greedy and controlling they seem to become (well TRY to be!!!). I am over helping people and trusting their 'word' to help me when I need it -- and then being shat on. SO MUCH FOR SHAKING HANDS WITH SOME PEOPLE and SO MUCH FOR SOME PEOPLE BREAKING PROMISES TO ME.. 04.01.2022 SPRING has started, and it's time to top up your mulch around trees, shrubs, garden beds and your vegetable patches, in preparation for Summer. Don't forget to put some mulch on your potted plants as well. When mulching around trees and shrubs, DON'T make a "Volcano" around the base of your trees etc. See the correct way to mulch in the picture below, or you could cause the tree trunk to rot, causing diseases which could end up killing the tree. Make your mulch a bit higher around the drip line of the tree, as that's where the new roots will need more water. "Happy Gardening".
