03.01.2022 Dear Valued customers of the Park Orchards Pharmacy As you may be aware, electronic prescribing (also known as paperless prescribing) is an Australian Government initiative. Due to COVID-19, the Government has accelerated the rollout of this initiative, and it now live. Your GP may already have begun to implement electronic prescribing to enable this new initiative.... If you choose to receive your prescription electronically, your GP will send it to you in form of QR code. You need to make sure that your local pharmacy is ready for Electronic Prescription Dispensing. If you would like more information on this topic, I would suggest visiting the Digital Health Website on https://www.digitalhealth.gov.au/g/electronic-prescriptions. At Park Orchards Pharmacy, we are now ready to receive electronic prescriptions. We have invested significant time and effort in updating our systems and processes to ensure our local community will be able to access electronic prescriptions. As with any technology change, it will take time. You will still have the option if you prefer paper prescriptions for some time, and of course, we will be able to dispense medication from either a paper or electronic prescription.
