21.01.2022 MYTH: My dentist said I have cracks in my tooth and I need a crown but Im not in pain so Ill wait FACT: At our practice we focus on preventative dentistry. Prevention, however, doesnt always mean not performing treatment. Whenever we see fracture lines and weakened cusps we anticipate an actual fracture is going to happen in the near future. So we want to save the tooth before it crumbles and then the prognosis is poor.

15.01.2022 What are chalky teeth? The condition Hypomineralisation is where the tooth enamel, commonly on the molars, contains less mineral and is thereby softer and like chalk. The incidence of this in children is quite high between 15 20% or 1 in 5 children. These figures have been established from over 40 different studies. Within these cases there is a large spectrum of variation it can vary from very mild to very major.... The cause is not fully understood. While we think genetics may play a part, there may be other factors such as environmental or otherwise. Chalky teeth should always be addressed with good oral hygiene, diet, use of specialised dental products and regular dental check ups. The idea is to catch this problem early before pain and tooth loss.
