13.02.2022 #PARKSWEAT Fun Fact We have 7 Mum/Daughter Duos that train with us through group training & personal training. And almost all of them are training together across international or state borders! Sydney > NYC, Norway > Canada, Melbourne > Florida. It’s so cool. And makes me really happy because: 1. I can tell they love the time together (online mostly) supporting each other to get stronger. 2. It’s awesome to spend quality time online together doing something different > fe...eling more connected even though you’re separated. 3. Mums & daughters training together feels so damn INSPIRING & KICK-ASS Hells yes. 4. Strength training is so important for women at all ages & I am so grateful for being trusted with the job of helping these women get stronger! 5. I miss my Mum who is interstate & get extra joy for these ladies knowing how it feels If your Mum is across borders & you would love to get moving with her DM me & let’s set up a mother/daughter duo sweat sesh It’s the best. 03.02.2022 CHECK THIS OUT! Did you know exercise helps reduce feelings of anxiety, depression & stress while helping those with ADHD, PTSD & sleep disorders? Well I am not surprised because over the years this is probably the biggest most important feedback I get from the #PARKSWEAT crew. - I am sleeping better - I feel more calm - My anxiety feels less intense - I can focus... - I feel happier after working out - the list goes on! And these feelings may only last an hour after training in the beginning but the positive effect builds with consistency. Which is so good to hear. And these benefits are often SO MUCH more impactful on peoples lives in a positive way than any kind of appearance change (which often draws people to exercise in the first place). Honestly, screw the appearance side of things if your anxiety is wildly out of control, you're depressed & not sleeping...anyway don't get me started. BUT I was excited to share with you today (while writing an article for PUMA on mental health benefits of movement) that working out with others - even on a VIDEO PLAYBACK - enhances you self esteem!! YES! Now I have seen this first hand in the park - where confidence & self esteem grows while working out with others, I have also seen it online during our LIVE sessions but to know that if you simple do a playback of a video training with someone you feel greater connection, confidence & self-esteem...how awesome is that?! 26.01.2022 We need to stop being so reductionist when it comes to health. Because human beings are not linear. There are so many moving systems & parts. So many influencing factors. When we simplify things down to one culprit we are ignoring the intricate tapestry that is life! Take weight gain for example; I hear clients or friends say that they are not doing enough cardio or it’s the wine at night - well these may be contributing factors but it’s also EVERYTHING ELSE. And while s...ome things effect the equation more than others there are so many major factors that most of us simply are not recognising. The aspects that often get overlooked are BIG contributors: It’s stress. Especially during Covid times, even if you don’t feel it. It’s sleep. Quality & time. We need to give more time for quality rest & stop ignoring what our bodies are telling us. It’s lack of movement generally - which has been highly impacted by the big change to WFH. We can’t ignore the positive impact of simply being active throughout the day. It’s the balance of every item you put into your mouth. Not in a paranoid way, but in a simple way. Everything you put in your mouth directly impacts our system, our energy available, mood, sleep, digestion etc. This doesn’t need to be a heavy thing but a basic acknowledgment of our choices. It’s not one thing. It’s all the things. Which means you have so many positive ways to impact & shift your health. The daily morning walk makes a difference, reduced screen time makes a difference, the extra water makes a difference, the early bedtime makes a difference. ZOOM OUT. And look at your overall habits. MOVE MORE often, EAT things that make you feel good. Make time for good REST & get away from screens when you can. You’ll be amazed at how awesome you can feel by making basic, big picture health changes - Han xx

05.01.2022 It’s almost that time again! #PARKSWEAT online & outdoor classes kick off again on Monday 11th January The last few weeks we have watched as the crew flew through online playbacks, training from home or out & about on holidays. Have loved getting all the post workout comments & hanging out with you all in your lounge rooms! It’s been awesome to witness the impact of online training on consistency. Well done to all of you! Keeping movement high over a break whether it’s an online HIIT session, hike, surf board or daily beach walks, it makes such a difference to how you feel coming into a new year. It’s been great to see women choosing movement that fits with how they feel & what their body needs - restorative Yin Yoga or intense strength sessions, listening in to what the body needs Good work legends xx
