22.01.2022 What a happy parklet! If you've been wondering where our Clovelly Rd parklet went, it's currently living a cosmopolitan lifestyle in Hall St, Bondi. And the locals LOVE it! The outside has been re-clad in timber, and some new plants added.... It's on loan to Waverley Council for a few months. Should Randwick City Council take it back, and where should it go?

19.01.2022 Recognize this? Clovelly Road...

18.01.2022 Randwick City Council are preparing a master plan for Clovelly Road. Woot! (Dare we say finally?!). Jump online here to give your feedback: https://www.yoursay.randwick.nsw.gov.au/clovellyroadmasterp

15.01.2022 Our parklet has added a State Award to its CV! At a dazzling gala dinner event this week, the Planning Institute of Australia awarded Waverley Council for the parklet as part of its NSW 'small projects' award. http://www.planning.org.au/documents/item/7165... Thanks Waverley Council for entering the parklet as part of its nomination. Randwick City Council or City of Sydney could be next?

15.01.2022 This is some serious yarn bombing!

15.01.2022 We've been a bit quiet, but the parklet has been generating it's own noise over in Bondi. They love it so much over there, they want it to stay for good! Here's an article from the Wentworth Courier with the story....

15.01.2022 Check out this parklet. A sailboat! https://www.citylab.com//seattles-newest-parklet-/521142/

15.01.2022 What a happy parklet! Our Clovelly Rd parklet is barely recognizable from the outside, with fresh artwork and the tree has bounced back to life. After spending a few months in Hall St in Bondi, the parklet is now in Glebe Point Road in the inner west! Drop by and enjoy the scenery and local cafes. #parklet

14.01.2022 THANK YOU! Our job here is finally done! After six years of campaigning, including two community-run days where we took over the street with real actions, Randwick City Council has finally approved the Clovelly Road Masterplan. You can view the plan here: https://www.yoursay.randwick.nsw.gov.au//d/167831/download (Jump to page 25 where it shows what’s proposed)... We love : new pocket parks additional vegetation an additional zebra crossing at Fern St speed zone reductions although a mix of 30, 40 and 50 isn’t ideal, why not go for 30kmh the whole length? attempt to make intersection with Guilderthorpe safer. But we’re not so happy about: NO facilities to ride a bike?! Isn’t this what the community asked for? How are kids and families to get around by bike? Calling it an on-road cycle lane is an insult to the 70% of our community who want to ride a bike but find it too unsafe. With the proposed kerb buildouts there will possibly never be a chance to retro-fit bike infrastructure in future the so-called cycle link from St Marks Rd to Centennial Park appears to be a Share Path, which includes a downhill section to Avoca Street and past a school gate Clovelly Car Park is still a sea of cars. Our community made it clear that kids loved the car-free park while it was closed during Covid-19 lockdown. Why not go further to make half of this a bike play area especially in winter? No other pedestrian crossing facilities added (except a couple of pedestrian refuges). This is a great step forward to get a master plan, and we’re glad the council finally completed the plan, but it doesn’t go far enough for pedestrian and bike ride safety and access. View the community feedback on the draft plan here: https://www.yoursay.randwick.nsw.gov.au/clovellyroadmasterp Contact your elected councillors to let them know what you think.

12.01.2022 Randwick City Council is conducting a survey of their proposed bicycle routes. This includes a route along Clovelly Road as well as 10 other local routes. The survey only takes 3 minutes. Jump online by 16 October to make your comment at: http://yoursayrandwick.com.au/cycleways... Some suggested comments you can cut/paste are: 1) Separated, safe Cycleways are the best type to enable the largest number of people to ride, especially women and kids. Simply painting a white line within 1 meter of a parked car 'door zone' is not a safe, separated cycleway. 2) The Clovelly Rd route (item 11) has strong support from the community, through the Park to Pacific community group (www.parktopacific.org) BIKESydney AustCycle CloVILLAGE Clovelly Nippers SLSC Breakers Clovelly Child Care Clovelly Bakery Bondi to Coogee walk Centennial Park Cycles DeNavi's: Your Kitchen on the Corner Costa Georgiadis Official Duke of Gloucester Gorgeous Pets BikeGal.com I Sydney Bike Lanes & Cycle Ways Biird Store Darley Street Bistro at Clovelly Clovelly Playgroup Rheannon Lee Floral Designs Pizzavelly Italian Kitchen

11.01.2022 Clovelly Public School has seven families with electric cargo bikes! They're convenient, you can park wherever you want, the electric motor assists you carrying kids up hills, and they're much cheaper than owning a second car. Find out more at the upcoming Bike Week at Bondi Beach on 17 September. BIKEast

11.01.2022 Love this! Shall we get one for Clovelly Beach?

10.01.2022 Waverley Council good on you!

09.01.2022 We love anything in Randwick City Council that improves our streetscapes

08.01.2022 What makes a successful 'parklet'? We are interested to see whether our parklet in both old and new locations correlates with this. What do you think? http://www.citylab.com//why-some-parklets-work-be/387406/

06.01.2022 Our parklet keeps sparking more love! Here it is featured in this great crowdfunding video for Glebe.

05.01.2022 Randwick City Council is seeking feedback on suggested cycle routes including Clovelly Road (our Centennial Park to Pacific Ocean vision!!) Please take a few minutes to fill in their survey, thanks! http://yoursayrandwick.com.au/cycleways/

01.01.2022 After a fantastic 6 months on Hall St the parklet bid a sad farewell to Bondi in the wee hours of this morning and has found a new home at the north end of Glebe Point Road. The little birdies are whispering that perhaps this is not the last Bondi has seen of parklets.... stay tuned for more news!
