05.01.2022 Our community is proud, respectful and committed to learning linked to Wiradjuri Culture. Today we are excited to unveil four new totems that feature original artworks that were produced by well known Parkview community member and proud Wiradjuri man Mr William Ingram. The totems have been installed as a feature of the restored garden area adjacent to the COLA and will greet students as they enter the school from buses each day.... Alongside Mr Ingram’s artwork, the totems also feature our well known school values of Sharing, Learning and Growing. Together. Mr Ingram’s artworks also feature on directional signs around the school and we are grateful for his permission to utilise his talents to enhance the appearance of our school and to compliment our children’s learning and understanding of Wiradjuri Culture. When next you are near the school, be sure to check out the new totems

03.01.2022 In 1995 our school constructed a Peace Garden to mark 50 years since the end of World War 2. The original garden was opened by Pte Percy Bloomfield who was a member of 2/19 Australian Infantry Battalion and survived the infamous Changi POW Camp. This year, we have undertaken a rehabilitation of the garden area to restore it to its former glory and today we took another step in its completion by installing totems that honour the Australian Army, Airforce, Navy and RSL. Parkvie...w Public School remembers the sacrifices made and acknowledges everyone who has served and continue to serve our country. Thank you. When next you are near the school, please check out this significant feature in our grounds. Lest We Forget.

03.01.2022 The hot weather made it a perfect day for water-based Discovery Learning and the smiles and laughter from Year 2 was infectious after their session turned into a structured water fight Ask the kids all about it tonight!

01.01.2022 Our Wiradjuri Dance Group has been invited to participate in a welcome dance as part of the opening to the ‘Sunshine Supergirl’ Stage Production being hosted at the Griffith West End Stadium from October 7th. Originally, the plan was for a combined dance group from Leeton schools to perform at the event, but with COVID protocols preventing students from more than 2 schools gathering for activities we have filmed our students performing two dances - ‘Dance of the Murray Cod’... and ‘Awaken’, which they completed at school on Friday. We thank Mr Longford and Ms Hickson for leading our kids in their preparation for this activity along with Mr William Ingram for his guidance as well! Great job kids!
