25.01.2022 Parkwood playgroup has sessions available Wednesday and Thursday morning 930-1130. We are hoping to be able to open both morning and afternoon sessions on all other days if we get the numbers. We are always looking for new members and are happy to accommodate for mothers groups. 24.01.2022 **Important Notice: Playgroup Closed for Start of Term Two and a Call for Volunteers** Hi everyone Please note that due to ongoing maintenance Parkwood Playgroup will be closed for the beginning of term two. We apologise for the inconvenience and will be in touch when we are ready to return to our scheduled sessions. ... We are also calling for volunteers to join our small team of dedicated committee members. As part of the Parkwood Playgroup committee you will play a hands on part in shaping our beloved community hub whilst making great friends and enjoying a social atmosphere. Volunteers must be willing and able to attend meetings, participate in fundraising and craft preparation, answer emails, keep in touch via messenger and occasionally assist with facility clean-up and management. If you would like to help us grow and improve our playgroup please contact us via [email protected]. Our playgroup cannot function without the support of our volunteers. 23.01.2022 CRAFT ACTIVITY - WEEK 7 Here is a picture of the craft activity we will be doing next week. Personally, I have only attempted this activity with mixed groups of school aged children so I've tried to simplify and modify the process so there is no painting, little cutting required and mostly gluing/taping. Group leaders- all the equipment will be left for your session, the only things which need to be cut down are the chenille sticks/pipecleaners. There will be enough cups for ...about half of each session to do chicks and half to do rabbits. Any questions/queries please feel free to send a message.

22.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who donated their time, toys, clothes and/or baking skills for our fundraiser today - we raised $231 for Parkwood Playgroup.

22.01.2022 Term 4 is upon us!! As always please make sure fees are paid within 2 weeks from the start of term. As the weather is warming up we will be pulling out the water table/shells etc so bring a spare pair of clothes if you think your child will be involved and please also bring a hat (sunscreen is supplied). We're in the process of planning the end of year party so if anyone has any great ideas please let us know! Happy playing everyone

21.01.2022 At this point, all playgroup sessions are canceled for this week due to the semi collapse of the structure that holds the swings up. It's a huge hazard and will be fixed ASAP!! Steph

20.01.2022 Hello Everyone, A proposal to install a 31.5m (approx) Telecommunication Tower right in the middle of Hossack Avenue Reserve has been submitted to City of Canning Council. This is right next door to our beloved Playgroup building and on a recreational reserve that hosts many children and adult sporting games, as well as the playgrounds and cycle tracks. I won't go into the in's and outs of how terrible this would be for our area, the health issues etc.... but suffice to say P...arkwood Playgroup will be opposing these plans by submitting an official petition from its current members. As our friends and families past and present of Parkwood Playgroup please can we urge and encourage you to submit an objection/s to City of Canning Council. You can do this clicking on the link below and completing a comment form. The Planning Ref No is: 1518166 - In order for your objection to be valid you just need to demonstrate a connection to the intended area that will be affected. So please ensure in the comments section you state that you use the park for recreation or you take your children/grandchildren to the park there or you are a resident, or you go to playgroup etc.... *PLEASE NOTE* Anyone From Any Area CAN Submit an Objection. 13.01.2022 Hi everyone! As Easter is fast approaching, we thought it would be nice to organise some Easter themed activities for the children over the next couple of weeks. We will have an art/craft activity next week (Week 7), where the children can choose to help make a cute bunny or chick cup. These will be left to dry at Playgroup, ready for the following week- where each session will have their own Easter egg hunt! The kids can then use their cups to collect the eggs they find.... Details on the craft activity will be posted shortly so group leaders will know what they will require and for anyone else who is interested in maybe doing a similar activity with other children at home.

10.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLAYGROUP CLOSED 6, 7 & 8 APRIL*** Hi all, we've had some exciting news from the City of Canning. A team will be on hand to replace our flooring this coming week. With this in mind playgroup will be closed for the final week of term but we will be offering make-up sessions to members on 13, 14 and 15 April. We apologise for the late notice but look forward to getting together for a play on our shiny new floors very soon!

07.01.2022 We've had a great start to Term 1, with both new and old faces joining us at Parkwood Playgroup. We still have enrolments available on our Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning sessions (9:30 - 11:30). Feel free to come down and join us for your free trial and to check out our facilities. Now is the time to have your say. ... Playgroups WA will be contacting members in the coming week calling for volunteers to form a new Committee and reinvigorate this much loved space. A meeting will be held on Friday 13 May (time tbc) to discuss Parkwood Playgroup going forward. Due to unforeseen commitments the current committee has voted to dissolve and opportunities now exist for a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Purchasing Officer, Fundraising Officer and Enrolments Officer. 01.01.2022 The Parkwood Playgroup End of Year Party was a huge success today. Thank you to everyone who came along and showed their support. It really was a lovely morning for both the adults and the kids. We look forward to an exciting 2017 ahead :-)
