23.01.2022 It's great to see what our Sharkies have been getting up to in the off-season with other sports; especially those who are either playing under the Parkwood banner or just with their fellow league team mates. Our 'around the fields' sources have spotted some of our Open Men playing TRL in addition to rugby union and our under 10's playing Oztag and 7s- winning their Grand Final in the former and placing as runners up in the latter. Not to be outdone, the females have been pr...oudly representing Parkwood too. The Parkwood Sharks Beach Rugby team narrowly went down in their semi-final last month, finishing third overall in the competition; and our Open Men's manager, Bec, won a premiership with her netball team. The recent Queensland All Nations Touch Festival saw a strong contingency of Parkwood female players in the Niue side, playing for the Open Women's, the Open Mixed and 30's Mixed sides. Last but not least, a handful of our female players featured in the Griffith Uni Knights 7's team, taking out the grand final in the Brisbane Junior Rugby Union competition! With less than a month to go until teams are back at training, we hope you're enjoying your off-season and making the most of some downtime! Have any photos and updates from your off-season? Post in the comments below!
22.01.2022 Not footy related but with only 2 games of footy left for the year here is a a great watch for the family for only $7. (Parental guidance required) "Phoenix Rising" the feature film was shot here on the Gold Coast and features a lot of local scenery and landmarks- including the fire scenes filmed here at Parkwood Sharks, it features former Parkwood Sharks players Will and Kai Babbage, and one old relic in a cameo who got lucky the promo shot lasts longer than the cameo. It ad...dresses the dangers of internet dating and child trafficking in a compelling story with some wonderful visual effects. It is ghastly fitting that it's release coincides with the announcement of Operation Arkstone, an Australian operation that has uncovered a global paedophile network. We as a society have much healing and constructive work that needs to be done, including the support of the justice system. Supporting our local film makers.
22.01.2022 The Parkwood Sharks Under 10s team have joined the Nerang Bulls Summer 7's 2020 competition and are in the finals if any #Sharkies want to come down and support the boys! Our game is at 9.20am Nerang Bulls Rugby Union Club. Finals will be at 11am/11.20am.... Pretty awesome for a league team

22.01.2022 Hi All. On the fundraising road again . I just wanted to ask for your support for this little warrior ( see photo below)... RIORDAN is a local GC boy who just turned 11 a few weeks ago. He lives with his parents Jennifer and Brendon and his older brother Jameson. Riordan is passionate about sports and living life to the fullest. He has a huge heart and an even bigger smile! This makes it even harder to comprehend that earlier this year he was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour. As a community we must wrap our arms around this family and raise as much money as possible for them to create some fantastic memories and do some bucket list things to keep this little boy smiling for as long as we can. I ( Scott Bryant ) will be selling 2020 NRL GF Doubles tickets , if you can spare $10 please reach out and by a ticket or 2. 14.01.2022 Hi there, Just putting a call out for a truck or large trailer to help move our stages back to Surfers Paradise in the next couple of days. If anyone can help with the transport and a bit of muscle for an hour or so, can you please message the club ASAP?
14.01.2022 This year we introduced the Peters Sisters Female Development Sheild. This shield was named after 3 of the toughest sisters to grace the paddock. Hilda Peters, Rona Peters and Kahurangi Peters. This trio have not only played NRLW for the Warriors and Broncos but they made history by being the first sisters to play in the Kiwi Ferns. Because of their integrity both on and off the feild, their commitment to their club and love for the game our Female Development look to them a...s fierce and positive role models for our girls. We are lucky enough to have many " multiple player female" families in our club and having this shield not only honours the achievements of the Peters sisters to the game but brings truth to our club motto " ONE CLUB ONE FAMILY". We had so many formidable entrants but the final four came down to= U18s Tiana Raftstrand-Smith U16s Lavinia Kitai U16s Rhythm Tauti Epa U14s Mhia Mackey Taylor. All 4 of these females were outstanding and deserve all the recognition that comes with it. After all the votes were counted the clear winner was Rhythm Tauti Epa. Aswell as being the Captain on the feild, she lead the way for the girls off the feild aswell. Most game days you would find Rhythm setting up the fields, working in the canteen, helping the younger teams and mopping floors long after everyone went home. She works hard and plays harder. Truly a humble girl to the core. Congratulations Rhythm we are proud of all your achievements and Thankyou for your tireless effort to our club. Thankyou to Kahurangi Peters who presented this Sheild to Rhythm and to Hilda and Rona for sending in videos.

02.01.2022 The passing of a young person is always devastating, and Keith Titmuss is no different, with the NRL community in shock after losing the 20-year-old forward. In the words of NRL CEO Andrew Abdo, "This is a tragic day for rugby league. The game has lost a promising young player with the world at his feet". We at Parkwood Sharks send our deepest condolences and love to Keith's family, friends and to the Manly Sea Eagles.
