23.01.2022 Back in 1982 I was privileged to be recruited into the design team of Mitchell/Giurgola & Thorp Architects to do the New Parliament House of Australia in Canberra. It was there I met so many clever architects, from many parts of Australia and the world, who came to Canberra to work together in designing the beautiful and timeless Parliament House of Australia we know today. Kudos to everyone involved and especially to Aldo Giurgola and Ric Thorp who provided exemplary design skill and leadership in this once in a life time magnificent architectural feat. The photos were taken in 1984. The first was the site aerial view looking north towards Lake Burley Griffin, and of me standing next to the excavation of what was to be the House of Representatives underground carpark.
