23.01.2022 Parndana currently very smokey and lots of ash around but no fire in the town as yet. There is a group of us out front of the shop keeping an eye on the town. PC just went for a drive checking for any hot spots but all ok atm. At least we've been able to give all those passing by a cold drink and some food. I promise we will leave if conditions get more dangerous. Will update when I can.

20.01.2022 Well what a 24 hours it's been. Parndana township is still standing (although power has been cut), Mike is still at the shop but obviously we will not able to help out with cold drinks today. (anyone know of a spare generator?) It was a long night of keeping his eyes out for any flare ups and he's pretty tired. I wont be able to update any further as the shop phone won't work without power and his mobile is nearly flat. I can't even get to him due to the road closures. I pray that today sees some reduction to this hell that our poor island, it's people and animals are going through. Please stay safe everyone. Jen

We have had a visit from the Army boys who have left contact details here if anyone needs help in any way they are keen to do anything needed. 09.01.2022 Hello again. This will be my last post for awhile as Im returning back to Parndana after spending the night with some lovely people from Penneshaw who made sure I had a nice hot shower and comfortable bed for the night. Not so much for poor Mike who has not left the shop since this nightmare began. With no power, no landlines and no mobile coverage in Parndana it's been a bit tough on him. We had the doors open yesterday for the few passing thru in need of bread, drinks or ...just some company and will do so every day. We face the daunting task of sorting thru the stock loss and have been giving away what we can as people drop in. Thank you so much to all those who have sent messages and offered support thru this hard time. Compared to many, we are the lucky ones and I am so thankful that we still have a building standing. Kangaroo islanders are strong, resilient and community orientated and we will get thru this together. Please understand that we have no way of responding to messages until such time as infrastucture is back up and running. Again thank you to all those who have reached out to us. Jen See more

08.01.2022 Look who popped in to say Hi! Great to have a visit from South Aussie with Cosi who was over filming for his upcoming show on Kangaroo Island. It was also great to catch up with and meet so many friends of Eran’s who were over for the races. Thank you all for stopping by and we hope you enjoyed your time on Kangaroo Island.

03.01.2022 Thanks to the gift of a generator from Bank SA & Leon Bignell MP we are able to remain open with our full range of Takeaway & Groceries during the power outage in Parndana on Wednesday 8th April.

02.01.2022 Sorry but looks like we have to close. Town is being evacuated. Mike out front hosing down the shop in the vain hope of saving it. It's all we have. Smoke all down the street.
