20.01.2022 Fun with nature and recycling materials

19.01.2022 Fun activities in August 2020 were related to National Science Week (Theme- Deep value: Innovation for the future of our oceans), National Aboriginal and Tor...res Strait Islander Children’s Day where children were fully engaged. Children got opportunity in Cultural Awareness through various engaging activities. Children experimented with natural resources (coconut shells, avocado shells etc.) for sink/float concept and watched curiously when one coconut shell with a small hole was sinking slowly. Children also had fun with paper boats & were finally amazed to see their reflections inside deep blue water. Children were fully involved in creating Ocean Small World, they learnt about ocean litter, removed it, and put in appropriate bins. EYLF L/O 2.2: Children respond to diversity with respect. EYLF L/O 2.4: Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment. EYLF L/O 4.2: Children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, enquiry, experimentation, hypothesizing, researching, and investigating. See more

The Educator, asked Carla to put it down but didn't remove the toddler from the activity or to check if she had swallowed it. Carla's mum received a phone call the next day giving her a heads up not to be surprised if she finds a "stone" in Carla's nappy. For more information, please read the following:
