24.01.2022 The Funny Mummies Comedy Gala is TONIGHT at the Paroo Shire Hall, doors open from 7pm. Due to the extensive COVID-19 requirements around the serving of food and beverage, no refreshments will be available for purchase however you are able to BYO. It would be greatly appreciated if you could click "Attending" in the Facebook event (https://bit.ly/3m2U3kW) so we have a rough idea of numbers attending.... Don't miss this amazing date with three of Australia's funniest comedians who also happen to have birthed loin fruit. Laughing isn’t just a luxury, it’s life’s epidural. It’s cathartic, therapeutic and makes us feel less alone. Event info here https://bit.ly/3m2U3kW

22.01.2022 Council has been successful in securing a grant of $40,000 through the Queensland Veterans’ Memorial Grants Program to restore the Cunnamulla War Memorial Fountain to its former glory as a fully functional fountain. The fountain has been a symbol of sacrifice and bravery since its construction in 1924 and as it is heritage-listed and is one of only two memorial fountains in Australia, its restoration is a very specialised process. Read more about it here https://bit.ly/3obF...099 This project is proudly supported by the Queensland Government.

20.01.2022 EDITED 4.30pm 22/9/20: In an effort to get as many households' bins emptied as possible, a few crews will be going around town with trailers emptying household bins tomorrow (23 Sept) while the rubbish truck is out of action. Please leave your bins out tonight. We will endeavour to get to all household bins tomorrow, but it is most likely that business bins will be emptied the day after on 24 Sept. Thank you everyone for your patience. EDITED 3.20pm 22/9/20: We have heard fro...m the mechanic that the issue will likely take another day to fix, so the rubbish truck won't be on the road tomorrow (23 Sept). Council would like to advise that unfortunately the rubbish truck has broken down and despite attempts to get it back on the road today, is looking like it will take longer. Council will update this notice once the truck is back on the road.
