20.01.2022 State Combined Event (Previously Multi Event) 29 Feb/1 March 2020, Tamworth LANSW host a weekend carnival each year on the first weekend in March. This years event is hosted by Tamworth, who have a brand new synthetic track. It is a fun carnival open for age groups U7 through to U17 and is a Combined Event, whereby over the course of the weekend the athletes compete in 6 events. There are 3 track and 3 field events and each event attracts points based on your performance, ...rather than the place you come in an event. There is no qualification and the Combined Event points tables are located on the LANSW website. Cost is only $25 to register (until 12 Feb, then $50 for late entry up to 19 Feb). There are number of families from Parramatta that we already know are attending. It is a great weekend away and the kids go around in their age groups and get to mix with kids from Centres all over the State. Any questions please dont hesitate to contact me. Registration is on the LANSW website and closes on 12 February 2020. https://lansw.com.au/state-multi-event-championships/ See more

14.01.2022 **REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS POSTPONED! Due to the extreme weather conditions we are currently experiencing and the forecast of up to 150mm of rain on both Saturday and Sunday, the Region 5 Committee has had to make the unfortunate decision that for the safety and wellbeing of all athletes and officials, the Region 5 carnival must be postponed. We are currently in discussion with the Office of Sport and Recreation to secure the use of the track next weekend, Saturday 15 and Sunda...y 16 February and there is a slight possibility some events may be held on Friday evening February 14th. The Region committee will re-convene early tomorrow morning to work on a revised program of events if necessary. Please understand the logistical challenges of re-organising Officials and parent helpers. We will let you know ASAP what needs to change, but at this stage, please plan to mirror what you were doing this weekend, to next weekend. Stay posted... Kind regards, Andrew PLAC President

03.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 State Relay Championships, scheduled to be held in November. This decision has not been... made lightly, but it is in line with the current NSW Government and NSW Department of Health restrictions regarding COVID-19. Little Athletics NSW believes that centres and members will appreciate the early notice of this cancellation. Little Athletics NSW will continue to provide updates about the impacts of COVID-19 and the 2020/21 season. Little Athletics NSWs main priority is assisting our centres in any way possible to get up and running for the 2020/2021 season and provide the best possible Little Athletics experience under these difficult circumstances To read the full statement please click here: https://bit.ly/2XVYuUq

03.01.2022 Beautiful weather for athletics tonight, our first week of daylight savings; make sure to keep your curtains open so they don’t fade. Important points to remember: - Athletes can go straight out to their meeting points, they DO NOT need to line up. - Only those parents wishing to sign on as a volunteer parent helper need to line up to get a sticker. Any other parents that are ‘spectating only’ can use the QR codes displayed around the canteen area and on the fence. - It is vi...tally important that 1 parent per registered athlete attend Barton Park. Our registration numbers are still going up and even though the NSW Government has relaxed some guidelines around community sports the Public Health Order still caps attendance at 500 people. The 1 parent rule is still in play for PLAC. Please do not bring toddlers, babies, grandparents or other family members as they have to be counted in the 500 cap. General COVID Reminders: - If you are unwell, do not attend - If you have been advised you are a casual or close contact of a known case or cluster, do not attend - 1 parent per registered athlete is required to keep the venue number under 500 people - While at the venue please ensure you are practicing physical distancing and follow all advice - All athletes must bring and carry their own labelled drink bottle and jacket. -Please ensure you check-in via the QR codes supplied and check out via the website when departing We will be running the Week 3 program.

Unfortunately, we will not have the PA system again, so without announcements we will contact the Age Managers directly in regard to the program changes We are hopi...ng the lights will be repaired by next Friday, with work commencing next Tuesday.
