22.01.2022 Let there be praise Let there be joy in our hearts Sing to the Lord Give Him the glory.... During these unprecedented times, with so many restrictions in place, we have had to be creative in the way we do things. I believe this time has taught us to think outside the box and to try new things. For me Timbrels has always been about two things: 1. Sharing in precious fellowship, coming together to create something beautiful. 2. Sharing the joy of Christ with others. God really put it on my heart, that even in these times, Timbrels could still be used as a channel for these two things. In recent months, I have had the incredible privilege of joining with others from all across Australia to create this piece. My prayer is that this project has brought joy to all those who were involved. I also pray that all those who watch it will have joy in their hearts. A special mention to Anthony Eden who has done such a fabulous job in editing this all together. Bless you!

You can drive into our driveway on Grose Street, and our team will direct you into the carpark, or you can walk in through the main entrance on Church Street. We can't wait to celebrate with you each this weekend! Grant, Sharon & Sarah

22.01.2022 "O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever"

22.01.2022 It is with mixed feelings that we share the news that we are to move on from Parramatta Corps. There is a sense of guilt that we have not yet finished the job with getting us into our fantastic building and launching our new ministries at 426 Church. We also feel sad that we are leaving. It has been a privilege to serve our corps as leaders and we value the relationships weve formed and the many experiences we have shared over the last six years. We want to make clear that t...he Army leaders are not moving us against our will. We have been in discussion with our DC for some time about what shape next year might take. Sharon and I had different ideas about what that might look like. However, with the way Army appointments are organised as well as COVID-19 restrictions some of our suggestions were just not possible. Therefore we agreed that Grant would take an appointment at the College in January and Sharon will be taking her leave and Sabbatical until June 2021. We were very conscious of the need for a transition plan so we had also talked to the Army leaders about Sarah coming on board as a cadet-in-appointment and are very glad the Army could make that happen. We believe that Sarah is exactly the right person to help lead our corps into the exciting future that lies ahead. We are glad that Major Kylie Collinson will be taking up the role of Corps Officer team leader at Parramatta. Kylies husband, David, has an appointment as the Public Relations Secretary for the NSW Division. We are hoping to develop a transition experience with Major Kylie so that she can come to Sydney and meet lots of you, gain an understanding of how our corps operates, as well as being involved in the planning for next year. May God bless our Corps! Grant & Sharon

21.01.2022 Working with The Salvation Army, Donald Cant Watts Corke and STUDIO 23 design, Reitsma has recently completed the refurbishment of the whole building at the Par...ramatta Corps. Situated on Church Street in north Parramatta, It involved demolition and reconfiguration of the first floor to construct a new 250 seat worship hall, new administration spaces, new cafe, commercial kitchen and indoor/outdoor children play areas. The building includes various architectural features including new skylights and cross on the roof, acoustic ceilings, unique carpet patterning and new glazing to the existing window and roof which provides plenty of natural light in the lobby that the church and community will enjoy for years to come. Well done to the project team on completing this great church project. Parramatta Salvos See more

17.01.2022 The Salvation Army has once again partnered with Kmart Australia for the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal. It's Australia’s largest and longest-running gift collection appeal, and we are proud to continue this long-running partnership with Kmart Australia. The theme for this year's appeal Big Heart, Small Gift has been drawn from the unprecedented need for support in 2020, and encourages Australians to give what they can, however big or small. If you or your workplace would like to contribute to our appeal at Parramatta Salvos, get in touch with our office on 9630 0637. #bigheartsmallgift #leavenooneinneed

16.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that Cadet Sarah Walker will be joining our Corps Officer team as a cadet in appointment. She will begin her ministry with us on August 31. Sarah is currently in quarantine, having travelled up from Melbourne last week. Sarah has a degree as a PDHPE teacher. She was also the Youth and Community worker at Wollongong Salvos. Sarah grew up in Wollongong and both her parents work for the Salvos. She will soon complete her second year at Eva Burrows College. Sarah is very excited to be joining the team at Parramatta and very much looking forward to her ministry with us. Please pray for Sarah as she transitions into this new role.

15.01.2022 Join us for church online this morning

15.01.2022 The Government has now raised the number of people able to attend worship subject to distancing guidelines. However, for us in the short term there will be no change. The size of Granvilles main hall is not adequate for us to fully return yet. Worship will remain online at 9.30am. Headquarters have also outlined some strict conditions around cleaning, sanitizing, and provision for guests that will need to be adhered to when that occurs. Our building on Church Street is look...ing good! Drive past some time and check it out. However, there have been some rain delays which will probably push the completion date for the project back a few days. Well let you know when this is confirmed. Well keep posting videos and pictures when we can so you can see its progress. As we come to the end of the property project we will be relocating the office from Shop 1 to a temporary space in shop 2 to enable Reitsma to strip out and repair shop 1. This will happen this month and we have started to pack up the office in readiness. Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Red Shield Appeal. We appreciate everyone who took up the challenge to be an online Fundraiser. So far we have raised over $10,000. This is a great effort for our first attempt at collecting this way. There is still time to join in or donate. If you have been watching the news, you will know that the Coronavirus is no longer the only source of concern. It is timely to consider how we work for justice and to learn more about what that means for each one of us. Lets look to Jesus to better understand how we can be people of justice bringing peace and righteousness into the world. Keep praying. Keep safe. Sharon & Grant

07.01.2022 This week (8-15 Nov) is NAIDOC Week. Celebrations are held across Australia each year to acknowledge the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. The theme for 2020, "Always Was, Always Will Be", recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. We want to encourage you to register for one or both of these webinars held by our National Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Team. #NAIDOC2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe
