20.01.2022 Unpacking YOUR Ideal business

07.01.2022 It was great to meet with Stewart Nicholls earlier this week for chat about his business, STC Education. STC is short for ‘Specialised Training & Coaching’, ...a business dedicated to the safety and help of other people on our roads. Through a program called Steer Safely (visit steersafely.com.au) Stewart and his team have designed their specialised courses to deliver the latest information, techniques and training methods available making better, safer drivers. The WHS benefits of this training are huge. Less accidents, significant cost savings for business through downtime due to injury, lower insurance and repair costs and a WHS compliance model for any business with vehicles on the road. The courses offered include the popular ‘Driver Awareness Workshop’ plus Defensive Driver Training. Also offered are the (much-needed) towing program, load restraint training and off-road driver training. Stewart, a long-term Hills resident and father of 2 boys keeps himself fit through gym work and exercise. He is passionate about helping people, and he truly cares. Stewart loves when he learns that people have used techniques taught by him and it has saved a life. He genuinely has an altruistic attitude that stems from his past when he has personally seen the effects of road trauma. It is this passion that finds him exploring reasons and ways for people to stay safe in the workplace particularly behind the wheel. Stewart is a motor mechanic by trade. He has a love of cars and all things related thereto. 13 years in the racing game as a driver and preparing racing cars for events built within him a deep understanding of cars, driving and the associated skills. Then he was 10 years working as a driver trainer with another business before launching STC earlier this year. Stay safe behind the wheel. Check them out online and talk to Stewart.

07.01.2022 It’s my pleasure to introduce Vito Maniscalco, the franchise owner of Inspect My Home. As the name suggests Vito’s business is building and pest inspections ...for all structures commercial or residential. Inspect My Home helps not only home owners, but also business premises, multi-story buildings, shopfronts and more - through fast, reliable service and thorough inspection reports. Inspect My Home offers Sydney residents a wide range of property inspection and reporting services. Building inspections for new home handovers, pre-purchase, condition and dilapidation inspections plus pest / termite inspections. Vito, with his trade qualifications as a carpenter, has accumulated over 20 years of building experience from working in another building company. As time passed he felt the pull of running his own business. He always wanted to branch out on his own to apply his own business ethics and fundamentals. The seed was planted and began to grow 10 years ago when he started his own building business, VM Constructions. He entered the inspections arena around 12 months ago, recognising that his skills and experience could benefit a larger number of people, and the Inspect My home franchise was up and running. Vito is a devout family man with 3 young girls (including 3 year old twins). He is Sydney born and bred, a Gladesville man, and for over 10 years now he and the family have been local to the Hills District. Past times saw him loving racing bikes (the motor kind) and those passions have been parked, at least for now, to enable the dad’s taxi for junior soccer. Today the Inspect My Home franchise, with Vito at the helm, operates across Sydney and provides same day reports from the inspections. Call Vito or visit the web site to put your mind at ease - arrange your inspection today. www.inspectmyhome.com.au

01.01.2022 It is my pleasure to introduce Justin McSweeney an owner, with Steve Levy, at IMS Window Furnishings (IMS) in Castle Hill. When I was talking with Justin it ...was impossible to overlook the passion he holds for the business and what they, as a family unit, are working toward. Obvious is the pride in what his family has created and built over the past 15 years. And as a current customer of IMS it is easy to see the tangible family culture and professionalism in dealing with IMS. Put simply, IMS help people who are looking to ‘finish off’ their home design through window dressing. Their service offering, product quality, customised solutions, stringent customer service standards, experience and, perhaps most notable, the family values are what underpin this business as its unique identifiers. Its point of difference in a crowded market. All soft furnishings are custom made and proudly Australian. IMS started in the late 1990’s. In around 2005 Steve bought into the business, increasing his share to full ownership in 2010. Justin joined the team in 2015, working in sales, and is now a proud half owner. Today the business comprises 5 family members with one part timer and another full time designer starting in November. Justin is a self-professed nerd and Star Wars junkie. He’s a Hills resident and through our chat I was impressed with his appetite for customer satisfaction. He loves what he does, being driven by the rewards of seeing beauty in finished home designs and window furnishings. Making clients’ home designs ‘pop’. Justin started in car sales. In a toxic sales environment. When Steve needed help in the business, he saw the opportunity, and seized it. The family culture expanded. Visit the showroom in the Hills Super Centre or online at www.imswindowfurnishings.com.au
