20.01.2022 This year, Psychology Week highlights how psychology can assist with pain management and recovery. If you have a physical injury, it’s important to not let it d...efine who you are: you are more than your injuries. Invisible pain conditions are hard to tolerate, but learning skills to take charge of your mind and body, and doing this with others who are facing the same challenges, can be very empowering. Jennifer Veitch, Assistant National Manager, Open Arms Our ‘Managing Pain’ treatment program is available online or face-to-face for members of the veteran community. The course will help you: Understand the link between physical and psychological aspects of pain. Learn strategies to challenge/change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. Discover important lifestyle factors for managing pain. Develop a Personal Pain Plan. 01.01.2022 We love the phone, email and social media testimonials we receive from families about the ways our programs, staff and volunteers have helped their kids. Last ...year Kookaburra Kid Bella* messaged us through Instagram."The Kookaburra Kids program means a lot to me, she said. I have been on lots of camps and excursions and I just want to thank you for being there for me, and helping me with my little brother. You help with all our worries and give us the courage to fix them ourselves. If you've had a positive experience with our programs, we would love to hear from you. Let us know about your experience by emailing us at [email protected] (*name changed)
