25.01.2022 Are you concerned about being perceived as pushy? If you’ve got kids or know someone who has, it’s likely you’re familiar with the parental cry put your bags away. As a mother, it’s something I said many times when the kids were younger as they raced in from school, threw their bag at the front door and headed for the fridge!... It usually started with off as a gentle request. Chloe, Emma can you put your bags away please. If I didn't see any action happening I’d ask again ... this time with a more direct tone. Chloe, Emma put your bags away please. I’ve go to say I pride myself on speaking respectfully to my kids but frankly if there was still no action ... I could get a little fired up. My inner Grace Kelly would disappear and I'd morph into a wild woman ravaged by frustration and shout out Chloe, Emma bags! Have you ever been there? I know many Direct Sellers have, so here's why I'm sharing. The other day I was chatting with a member of my Party Plan Academy. During our chat she told me one of her greatest fears when talking with people about her business is being perceived as a pushy sales person. So I couldn't help but wonder Have you ever been concerned about this? I’m curious because . When I ask Direct Sellers this question at my live events, company conferences or in conversations like the other day, around forty percent express having been concerned about this at one time or another. Forty percent - now that’s a big percentage! But do you want to know what’s really crazy about this? 23.01.2022 Feeling frustrated because there's something you want to learn in your business and you just can't seem to get it? If there is then be sure to watch this video. It will give you a new perspective and maybe even make you laugh :) When you watch the video my little signs provide a perfect example of the 4 stages of learning. Here was my thought process when I watched the replay of the video :)... Stage 1 - Unconscious Incompetence: you don't know what you don't know ... blissful. Watching the first couple of seconds ... think I'm doing okay and then I see the first sign .... eeeeeeek!!!! Stage 2 - Conscious Incompetence - OMG ... you can't read the sign. I think about deleting the video but decide to keep it up because I'd rather be real than perfect and it's a great example of the exact thing I'm talking about. Great opportunity to have a chuckle at myself. Stage 3 - Conscious Competence - how the heck do I make the words appear the right way. When I shared the video in my Party Plan Academy group today this morning it was wrong and I thought I had fixed it. This is harder than I thought it would be. Who do I know, who may know what I need to know? Stage 4 - Haha ... obviously not there yet ... but I'm moving through the stages. Lyndsey xo

23.01.2022 Conquering Challenges I never used to like running. But I have to admit it's growing on me.... Some days it’s a breeze and other days it hurts like hell. For me, running isn’t just a workout for my physical body it’s a work out for my mind as well. Take today for example. It was cold, I’ve had a big week and the temptation to remain snuggled under the blankets was high. Sure I could succumb to the voices in my head telling me it’s the best option. But would it serve me? Not today. So I leapt out of bed, threw my shoes on and headed outside. I paused for a moment to take in the beauty of the sunrise then hit the road. The route is challenging. Having taken it many times before I know what to expect. Sometimes this can be a good thing sometimes not so good. Have you ever found that? As I walked out of my front gate I knew I was about to face the first of many uphill climbs. As I stood at the bottom of the first hill I thought about what lay ahead for me that day in my business. To be frank, that hill looked a lot like my day ... potentially very challenging. Standing at the bottom of the hill I figured I had three choices. #1 I could avoid the climb by trying to find an easier route. #2 I could turn on my heels and head home. #3 I could put my best foot forward and climb the hill. 16.01.2022 One of the things I missed most when I left the field as a Direct Seller was the sense of community Id created within my team. As women we shared more than just business ... we shared life. So a couple of years ago I decided to create the Party Plan Academy or PPA as we affectionately call it. ... Its a place where Party Planners from around the world come together to learn, grow and contribute to each others success. Since the PPA was launched more than 1000 women have joined. If our growth continues the way its going right now well have tripled the size of our community by Christmas. This growth tells me something. It tells me whats being delivered in terms of education and the culture of the community itself is what women in Party Plan want. 11.01.2022 It's been my observation that procrastination kills business growth for many Direct Sellers and if left unchecked eventually robs them of their dreams. So how can you stop it? Brian Tracy, author of Eat That Frog, recommends doing difficult tasks first thing in the morning as a way to minimise the risk of procrastination setting in.... This action he refers to as ... eating that frog. For me one of the frogs I choose to eat in the morning is exercise in particular running. Even though I don’t exactly love it, (that's what makes it a frog), I do it none the less. There are three key reasons I make this choice ... it's these reasons I share in my blog this week. 09.01.2022 It's not just a party ... it's an experience. For the past few days I've been in Bali. It's been a business trip infused with massages, swimming and spending time with my wonderful husband Jason. My kind of business trip! It’s been a very productive few days.... I’m excited about what I’ve achieved because it's going to make running your Direct Sales business easier than ever before and frankly, that makes me super happy. But ... more on that another time. Right now I'd like to chat a little about massages here in Bali. I know it may sound weird but stick with me. I believe if you really get what I'm about to share with you, it has the potential to have a huge impact on the growth of your business. You see, in Bali you have lots of choice when it comes to getting a massage. In business terms ... supply far exceeds demand. In other words, there are more people selling massages than people buying massages. It reminded me a bit of Direct Sales with more Consultants wanting to book parties than people wanting to host parties ... or at least that's what Direct Sellers with empty calendars would have you believe. So if the supply of parties is high and the demand for them is low ... how do you fill your calendar? The secret is ... Stop doing parties and start consciously creating experiences. The people in Bali offering massages who get this have thriving businesses. They don't have to be outside their shops touting for business because they have no customers. Their massage rooms are already full. How do they do that ... how do you do that? Here's a couple of things for you to consider. Experiences both good and bad, are created through our five common senses of sight, taste, touch, sound and smell and for many women through their six sense of intuition or gut feeling. So when you are with people either in a group format or one on one think about the sensory experience you are creating ... not just for your physical products ie the products your company produces but for your party experience, your business opportunity and with you as well. It's also important to remember ... You can't control people's experience as everyone processes information through their common senses differently. Having said that ... with conscious creation you can influence their experience. So I'm curious ... how do you positively influence people's experience of you and what you have to offer through your business. 08.01.2022 #teamgrowth I love people watching. I've done since I was a little girl.... In fact, I believe some of life’s greatest lessons can be obtained by observing others. Such was my experience whilst sitting by the pool on my recent trip to Bali. His name was Gede for my Aussie friends his name is pronounced Gidday. Pretty cool name don’t you think? Anyway, Gede was the activities guy. He was responsible for organising a wide range of activities for the guests staying at the hotel. Stretching classes, water aerobics, soccer, beach walks. You get the picture. On this particular day the activity was water polo. Now, you may be wondering what water polo has to do with growing your business but if you stick with me I’m confident you’ll get the link. So when Gede arrived at the pool there was no one waiting to play the game. In fact I’m sure many people didn’t even know the game was on. But, within minutes Gede had eight people happily playing the game with three keenly observing the game from the sidelines. What Gede did was brilliant. It was simple. And anyone can do it. So what does this have to do with your business? There were seven key things Gede did that day to go from a team of zero to eight.
