25.01.2022 Work in progress on the generational spanning double portrait... lots to fix, lots to do! I prefer to spend whole days at a time on this painting to get myself in the right zone. All pressure I feel related to it is self-created! That's a painter's prerogative.

25.01.2022 A special thanks to the stranger who left kindness and gifts at my doorstep yesterday. It brought about a dopamine rush (and a couple of tears) to be on the receiving end of such generosity. I-AM-O-PEN-D A dopamine anagram for the writer. Archival giclée prints available with hand-painted gold embellishment in A5-A0 sizes (A3 pictured).... #dopamine #thankyou

22.01.2022 This study shows that removing breast implants improves the symptoms of Breast Implant Illness, in the same week that the FDA issues a new recommendation for a Black Box Warning on breast implants.

16.01.2022 Having an amazingly zen Friyay on the grid. I've surrendered and it feels better. Every painting teaches you something new but dedication, persistence and diligence are always, always at play on the landscape of a canvas. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CHyxmhWDV3e/

13.01.2022 R.I.P. Maradona and the hand of God, a repeated line and prodigious talent which completely dominated my childhood years. I'm thinking about my family in Europe this week as Covid begins to affect me directly with people I care about both newly sick and coming out of intensive care with Covid-19. Australia is moving into a better place with no new cases, no new deaths and no active cases in Victoria paid for with a very long, hard lockdown, job losses, mental health and more. As an expat I'm finding it difficult to balance all this in my mind. BLACK TREETOPS BLOSSOM Archival giclée print (A1 pictured).

11.01.2022 Bravo, les filles! A brighter future for genetics.

11.01.2022 Gordon and Farquharson clan gladrags are in. Handbags are in. Boots are in. Homeschooling is finally out! Thank the sweet laird! Hair, skin, castles, skies and straps are left to finish in time for The Escapism of Creativity, an online A4 exhibition by Thou Art Mum coming to November.

09.01.2022 Putting FLAT on the map this International FLAT Day 2020!! G'day from Melbourne, Australia, in a global celebration of flattening the curve. Today I thank the support, wisdom and fanaticism of other women in the flat community advocating for health, wealth and freedom after mastectomy. I painted my implants in the absence of the real ones since I wasn't allowed to keep them. Cardboard is not quite so heavy or damaging to the body! Some women do get to keep their cleaned u...p devices. This inconsistency makes no sense and is just a glimpse of the many inconsistencies in this unregulated industry. Explant photos show a total capsulectomy: implants and capsules. The right was removed en bloc but the left capsule was stuck to my lung and made a hole which was repaired. Sore ex left boobs are a common thread with BII women as the implant is placed over the pressure of a beating heart. 6 months on from explant I'm where I should have been in the first place: happy and nearly myself again. Patience and diligence will get me there after four long years with Breast Implant Illness. There is no science which says breast implants are safe but plenty of science and anecdotal evidence to say they are not. I was harmed by implants. #notmydaughters #IFD2020 #InternationalFLATDay #BreastCancerReconstructionAwareness #BreastImplantIllnessAwareness #BII #BreastImplantIllness #breastcancer #previvor #survivor #mastectomy #breastimplants #flat

06.01.2022 "Bangin' stuff" from local paper, The Warrandyte Diary, on Art in the Time of Covid. Featuring three artists' perspectives, including the talented Tread Sculptures and Linda MacAulay Artist, there are a few 'EastEnd' words from me about my creative bubble within a 5km bubble! The article doesn't mention my 4-year long illness with BII or plug our fantastic upcoming online A4 exhibition, The Escapism of Creativity, by local Nillumbik network Thou Art Mum throughout Novemb...er. Be sure to check both out, depending on what's relevant to your needs during Covid! 06.01.2022 No interruptions or distractions to the 9-5 for the first time in 6 months! What's a homecoming queen to do with all this time? Fortunately I can think of plenty. HOMECOMING BILLY QUEEN is available in archival giclée print (A5-A0) and matchy-matchy A6 cards at www.pascalegarlingeart.com.

05.01.2022 Some paintings you know could go on forever, if you let them, but usually you can feel the close which is tied up in your own awareness and understanding of ability and potential. Freestylin' the checks on the flat then returning to upright to finish faces, hands, shadows and background, this double portrait is pulling together now.

03.01.2022 One day there will be a large disco ball and an easel behind this green door! Dan's restrictions are making it pretty impossible for Melburnians to make plans. I am trying to move from my current 2.5 x 2m workspace into a roomier 3.5 x 6m but it's definitely not easy! Today's numbers are promising though. Cross everything, Melbourne! THAT MARVINELLOUS FEELING! A6 cards and matchy-matchy archival giclée prints available at www.pascalegarlingeart.com. Hand-painted gold embellishment is also available on prints in the Stay Gold series. Just add GOLD EMBELLISHMENT to cart.
