21.01.2022 Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Its always a really hard day, its a vigil today, its a day to remember those trans and gender diverse people who have been murdered just for being who they are. According to the Trans Murder Monitoring Project, a part of TGEU - Transgender Europe, a person from our community is murdered at least once every day. Mostly black and brown women who were sex workers in countries that criminalise trans women and sex work. Trans men are a...lso increasingly visible in the number of deaths. This number isnt exhaustive, many are unreported. We do know, though, that this number is increasing every year. Closer to home and right wing conservative commentators are seemingly obsessed with controlling our experiences, our bodies, our self-determination, our autonomy, our kids, our families, our access to health. The best way to show your support is to stand up for our human rights. Its definitely not a happy trans day! kinda day but I love this art series from Asia Pacific Transgender Network. https://transrespect.org//tmm-update-trans-day-of-remembr/

13.01.2022 The ICD-11 is about to be voted in at the World Health Assembly, after being completed last year by the World Health Organization. After moving trans-related categories out of the Chapter on Mental Health, the next steps in the process include getting rid of the remaining pathologizing language and advancing towards legal depathologization and universal health coverage. The following briefing provides in depth information and a Call to Action.

09.01.2022 We are thrilled to let you know that we have now completed recruitment for the Australian Trans and Gender Diverse Sexual Health Survey, and it is now offline. For your information, 1,637 people completed the survey with representation from every state and territory. Ages ranged from 16-80 with a 60-38-2 split of trans and gender diverse people assigned either female, male or a different classification at birth respectively. We also reached a population equivalent sample of A...boriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders. We are absolutely stoked with this completion rate and believe this speaks to both the care taken to develop the instrument but also the community demand for meaningful, inclusive and appropriately trans-led research into their lives. This is, by far, the largest survey of its kind in Australia, if not the world. Thank you again for completing the survey and for promoting it. All of your efforts are deeply appreciated! Stay tuned for the findings.

04.01.2022 Transgender MSM have been invisible in both transgender HIV prevention efforts and in cis MSM prevention delivery, study co-author Dr. Sari Reisner, director ...of Transgender Health Research at The Fenway Institute and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, said in a statement. Our study suggests that bio-behavioral HIV prevention methods, such as PrEP, should be made available to transgender MSM. 02.01.2022 PASH.tm was established in 2014 after four queer trans guys got to talking at the AIDS2014 conference in Melbourne about the invisibility of guys like us (trans men into other men - trans MSM) in the Australian HIV response.
